The ideal starter kit
Perfect starter kit with a good UV lamp and decent amount of resin. The little silicone jugs are a super little bonus - I doubt I'll need to use them for UV resin, but I'm already using them a lot for measuring and mixing small amounts of non-UV resin to make sure the quantities are close to equal. I don't make jewellery, but do a lot of what I call resin engineering where I make prototypes of various kinds, and a mostly use non-UV resin for that, sometimes with embedded reinforcement, but I often need to build moulds out of tape, thin strips or sheets of resin (made on a silicone mat) and superglue before filling them up with normal resin. I'm now using this UV resin instead of the tape and superglue, and it makes the work far neater, faster, orders of magnitude less prone to leaks, while there's no tape getting left behind my mistake being covered by subsequent layers. This resin only needs ten to twenty seconds of UV light to stop it running around, so it's rally practical for this work, and it also sets just as fast using a small UV torch that came with a different product. This has transformed the way I work, and just in the last few days it's saved me many hours of fighting leaks in moulds; indeed, it sets fast enough that a slow leak can be wiped clean and then a drop or UV resin put on it (even from below) and given a quick blast of UV light, and that's it sealed. Be aware if you're buying this kit that you may get a different lamp from the one you're expecting - if you read the small print when clicking through the images at the top you'll see the two different lamps, and you'll get one of those selected randomly, so it's intended as a surprise. I happened to get the one that suits my work better, but the other one would still have been fine. I'd also recommend wearing sunglasses with full UV protection when working with a UV light - I didn't do so to begin with, but felt an odd pain in one eye several times when running the lamp, and I never looked at any of the LEDs while they were lit, so it was just reflected UV light. I work all night and don't see a lot of daylight, so I may be more sensitive to this than normal people, and bright sky hurts my eyes too, but this isn't something you should take any chances with - I'm being extra cautious because my father has developed macular degeneration.

Great kit, very pleased
Great kit. Managed to successfully mend a filigree bracelet and earrings with this, without the need for very tricky soldering. Also a small drop to just help secure small chain rings, just in case they may open again. Even an earring post on the back of filigree earrings, yes there is big blob of resin at the back, but you can’t see it and so far so good and at least they can be worn again, will see how longevity goes :) For tricky work, may help to have another pair of hands or some blue tack or equivalent to hold item still, applied resin and quick cured with the UV pen from another small kit by them and then did a longer cure with the UV mini lamp in this kit :)

Great little kit to get you started.....
I purchased this UV resin set a couple of months ago and I've used it several times since. I'm used to using two part epoxy resin but that takes a long time to cure and can be messy so I thought I'd give UV resin a go instead. This is a good little kit and you get everything you need to get started including the lamp which is usb powered. 2x 100ml bottles of UV resin, a silicone mat to work on, some stirrers and silicone mixing cups too. It's certainly a lot lot quicker and cleaner than two part epoxy and I can make more items in a shorter space of time. I'm not sure I would ever switch to this instead of two part epoxy though as this is far more limited, but it does have it's uses so it's more something I would use alongside my regular resin. For example it's great for putting a thin top coat of resin over my creations, or doming to give it a glossy shine as it's quite a thick resin. I find I have to make sure to go right up to the edge fully as it does shrink a bit when curing but as long as I get that right it works great for this. You are a little more limited when making things completely from scratch with UV resin since you have to make sure that the UV rays can get through the resin properly to cure it which means you can't add too much colour pigment or glitter etc or it may not cure properly and your moulds need to be transparent. It is possible to create pieces with colour (and I've made a fair few), even black if you only use a small amount but it does take a bit of trial and error and they will need cure for longer. You also cannot cure thick layers of resin with this either for the same reason. If you want a thicker layer then you need to cure your piece in several smaller layers and build up. I like that the lamp has bulbs on the legs of it too to allow the UV rays to better reach my creations. There's no timer to it just a power button on the top. The lamp will then last for ninety seconds then switch off so sometimes I have press it again to fully cure my piece but that's not a problem really. I did find that if I mixed foil flakes etc into the resin before filling my mould that it was easy to end up introducing a lot of bubbles so I find it easier to add these things after filling the mould with resin. I definitely need more practise with this UV resin to get perfect results but I am impressed with it so far. Admittedly I've never used any other brand of UV resin to compare it to. I'm used to two part epoxy as I said, but I'd have no qualms about using this Let's Resin UV resin again going forward.

Poor value
Not really a starter kit as it has no mold to start with. The UV lamp is VERY small. The silicone mat is small (about A5 size) and was crushed up to get it in the tiny box and even after a week of it lying flat under a heavy book I was unable to get it to lay flat. However the silicone itself was not bad, prone to bubbles but nothing a long necked lighter couldn't deal with in the most part.

This is my first time using UV resin and I love it! I followed the directions to a t and made this experiment pendant. I first did a small layer of resin and added gold leaf. Then I dried it for 2 minutes. Then I did another layer with glitter. Dried for 2 minutes and did one more layer of glitter and gold leaf just playing around. Dried perfect each time and I remembered to flip it over and dry that back too. It turned out beautiful and fully cured. There weren't many bubbles at all! It says to pour very close to the mold and I did that each time. I didn't need to warm the bottle in hot water. It's so easy! The resin does have a bit of an odor so I cracked a window open a tiny bit. This was a perfect starter kit and there is a lot of resin! The lamp works great! You can't charge it and have to plug it in to your own brick. The mat is great and so are the cups and stir sticks. It wasn't messy at all. I never got any on my fingers. I highly recommend this! I see people angry about the lamp being small but it works great so who cares. I actually like it small because I don't have much room on my desk. I'm excited to play around some more and I'll post more pictures later. It's so fun and easy and makes beautiful jewelry. I'll never use epoxy resin for jewelry again! Follow the simple directions and you will make great pieces.

I'm in Australia and I don't know any affiliate here that distributes Let's Resin products. So in saying that, the processing and delivery was very quick from the U.S. to Australia, well before expected delivery date. The UV lamp is quite small but great for a beginner like me. It does what it's made for! No issues for me at all. Thanks Amazon, muchly appreciated.
