This is a wonderful book that tells the traditional story of the birth of Christ very well. It is not only beautifully written and illustrated but also a great way to focus on the true meaning of Christmas with your child. In a season often dominated by material things like gifts that "magically" appear, it is nice to contemplate and talk about the spiritual origins of the holiday together. Christmas is a time when believers remember Christ's birth and spend time together sharing our faith, our love, and our thankfulness both for Christ and each other. This is why we give gifts. In a world that often tries to convince our children to be focused instead on a quest to please some mythical capitalistic golden calf (aka Santa) in order to secure those gifts, this book is a refreshing rarity. It will surely make a lovely gift for a little one who's close to your heart and being raised in faith.
