Is the logger removed from the computer, then placed in the area to monitored, then returned to the computer to read the data?

Yes, you configure the logger using the free software while it is plugged into your PC. Once the configuration is sent to the logger you unplug it from the PC and place it where ever you need to monitor. Once done, you plug it back into the PC and use the software to download and view the recorded data.
