Nice little hidden camera. However, I too was taken in by the overly positive reviews and low price. If you are looking for a serious set-and-forget security camera, this is not that sort of device. Don't get me wrong, they work fine for what they are, and are worth what they can do, but I was hoping for much more. They don't meet my security needs. As long as you keep the connection alive by keeping the app open, this device functions fine. However, the connection drops easily if you close the app, cannot be reopened unless you physically press a button on the camera, and the motion detection function does not work. Also, they do not work well in low-light situations.

It did not work for me! The instructions that I was given was not that helpful and I couldn’t figure the thing out. Perhaps others have had different experiences but for me it’s a no.

Works great if you can actually get them to stay connected. Mine also would not record any video it only had a live feed and they would only stay online and streaming for about 5 minutes. I bought 2 and one of them just wouldn't connect at all after it went offline the first time. I returned them and went with a refund instead of replacement

I liked the color the feel of it and its intended purpose a could not get it to work for me but good product & great idea

The mini IP camera works as intended for my use case. I bought it for impromptu temporary monitoring needs. With its built-in rechargeable (via micro-USB) battery and conspicuous 1.75” diameter, it’s portable and convenient to use practically anywhere.Using HDWifiCamPro version 4.8 (the latest available at time of this review), I was not able to get the app to automatically add the camera while connected to the camera’s wifi hotspot. The instructions included with the camera call out this scenario and tell you to manually add the camera via the app’s search function. Once I did that I was able to use the camera.I appreciate that this camera can function without requiring an internet connection. Recording to a microSD card can be accomplished in this state. You’re not forced to use a paid cloud service. Like many IoT devices, this camera does not support 5 GHz wifi signals. So, if and when you connect this camera to your home wifi, be sure you connect to a 2.4GHz signal.Given the camera’s diminutive size, you need to have reasonable expectations for its battery life, picture quality, and wifi signal strength. Picture grain is minimized when there is ample ambient lighting available. The magnetic base makes it easy to attach the camera to a metal surface (e.g refrigerator). Signal strength is best when it’s close and has line of sight to a wifi access point.

My major problem with this camera is that it disconnects from the network constantly and won’t connect back. I have to delete the camera on the app and then add it again, which is not convenient if I’m trying to access the camera from another location. No use for a camera if I have to be in the same room as the camera to view the video.Besides that, the image itself is very grainy and difficult to distinguish things.I originally purchased it to put in a gecko enclosure to monitor him overnight, I was attracted to it due to good reviews, low price and small size. I can’t put it in the enclosure because of how magnified the image is, can’t cover the whole enclosure unless I put it a good 3-4 feet away from it. The video quality is bad enough that I can’t see the gecko from this distance in the video. And to top it off, it keeps disconnecting from the network and I have to constantly delete it and add it, it’s really not worth the money or the effort to get it to work.
