Can be messy but easy to use and sturdy
***this product is not food grade rated because it is epoxy*** I was able to put my childhood teapot back together because of this kit and I’m very grateful. I preferred a cleaner look so I waited for the epoxy to dry and I was able to scrape away the excess. Also wiped away excess while it was still wet and I firmly pushed the pieces together until the epoxy took hold. Be sure to arrange your pieces before you mix anything and make sure everything fits together correctly. Make sure you mix together enough epoxy to do one piece at a time because it dries V E R Y quickly. Remember to take your time! I ended up just missing one piece but I was able to fill in the gap with the epoxy and it did the job. I’m happy to say that this epoxy is water proof but definitely make sure you hand wash whatever it is you’re using this on. Overall a good product and labor of love.

Fun and pretty repair job
This was a fun way to repair a cracked pot and fairly beginner friendly. The only downside is it’s messy and the epoxy dries fast so you must move quickly.

Not for the faint of heart - but worked great
I have to say - this worked a treat. I had purchased a handmade bowl I LOVED and my new kitten knocked it over her first night in the house and broke it into about 9-10 pieces. I remembered this method of repair and thought it could be perfect. Here’s what I learned: 1) it can’t hurt to try this. You’ll likely throw your broken item out anyway if you’re unhappy with the outcome - at least this could repair it. 2) follow directions. Put epoxy on both sides you’re joining. It makes a difference. 3) you need to be confident enough to move quickly but not so fast that you’re sloppy with the handling of the materials. It dries in about five minutes from the time you mix it - and with good reason. It’s enough time to get it mixed, put the epoxy on both sides and line up your pieces —- and then you need to join those pieces confidently so the epoxy oozes from the seem and HOLD IT in place until the five minutes is up and its chemical reaction is complete enough to hold. If you let go to early, the seam will split (it won’t look good) and you risk the piece falling off. Hold it long enough to bond and you’re golden - don’t get impatient!!!! 4) don’t rush. Give the previous pieces you’ve joined time to really bond/cure before adding your next piece so you’re not pushing/pressing on pieces that don’t have good firmness yet. All in all I’m VERY pleased with the outcome - but I’m also no novice to handcraft. I’d imagine that inexperienced crafters would really struggle with this. You have to have a solid game plan, a good sense of what needs doing, an appreciation for the method and both confidence and patience all at once. If you’re not experienced crafter and skillful with your hands, this will likely be very messy and frustrating for you. Also: this method isn’t for perfectionists. It’s meant to highlight the breaks and putting a piece back together will not result in a perfect outcome with smooth gold lines. It’s oozing epoxy and that doesn’t happen evenly ;-)

This is a great product for creating a family heirloom
Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with a golden glue. It’s a metaphor for life — and it’s life-changing. This product delivered all that it promised... and more! My wife Jane and I made our first Kintsugi piece of meaningful art last weekend. What started as a $12 ceramic vase purchased at a discount home products store has instantly been transformed into one of our most valued treasures. We didn’t do a great job with it. But that’s part of the beauty. The smudges, the unpatched hole in it, the messy streaks, the part that’s slightly uneven — it all equates to our beautiful lives well-lived, with all the pain and brokenness that comes along with life. The most important thing is that we have reassembled the broken pieces and we haven’t tried to hide the imperfections, but rather, we have celebrated them, highlighted them, embraced them, and we have learned from them. Jane recently recovered from a life threatening stage four breast cancer battle. Last year, I almost died of a pulmonary embolism. Kintsugi represents the broken pieces of life that can be reassembled and made even more beautiful. That once broken vase now has a place of honor in our household, much like we honor each other — with all of our faults, imperfections, injuries, and illnesses. We talk about Kinstugi in my film, WALKING WHILE BLACK: L.O.V.E. Is The Answer, in my book, L.O.V.E. Is The Answer, and in our L.O.V.E. Is The Answer workshops, webinars, and classes. It is one of the most meaningful and beautiful practices of art on earth. You don’t have to be an expert artist to create something through Kintsugi that you will cherish. We’re doing our second vase this coming weekend, but not to get better at it, just to enjoy the process — the practice — of Kinstugi. We highly recommend this product. So much so that we purchased kits for a dozen of our leadership team members so that they can experience it too. And, we are interested in purchasing more!

It didn’t dry quick enough
I had some difficulty with the product, it just didn’t dry quick enough as it’s indicated in the instructions. Also, It’s messy.

Never dries
Easy to work with but the product never dried, not sure if I got a bad batch but saw someone else on here say the same thing. Totally useless and now my mug is just covered in gold goop.

Beautiful!
I really love it! This saved my porcelain brooch. I actually added some gold on top to make it look even more golden—but now I find myself wanting to break something else just so I can glue it back together this way! 😄

Short working time, fast setting, best to use at low temperature
This is a great kit, and i have repaired to treasured items with it. As the note says, I took away a star because the epoxy sets way too fast for a detailed job at higher temperatures. This is a typical problem with fast setting epoxy. I determined that the best way to slow it down was to run air conditioning at very high cooling and fan, and use a vent to pull the fumes away. Epoxy is a hazardous adhesive with high volatile organic compound VOC off-gassing, so be aware of that risk. As long as you take precautions and use in a cool, well ventilated area, then it's safe and almost slow enough. I went to the hardware store and bought slower setting epoxy to finish the project that I had to do in a high temperature location. Other epoxies that are compatible with ceramics work well.

Easy to Use
The kitsugi set is user-friendly and simple to apply, which is a definite plus. However, I was slightly disappointed with the level of shine it provided. Overall, a decent product, but I was hoping for a bit more brilliance.

Wasn’t sure
While searching threw Amazon I looked at the kit and it seemed cheap but for that price lets some practice before the real deal. Received the package, I put it aside and a couple days ago I open it. Ok nice packaging lets follow the steps for the test of the test. Turns out it’s beautiful, doesn’t look cheap and pretty simple. Side note first time you glue when you think you hold it long enough, well.. you didn’t keep on holding and don’t squish it in submission lets the process do its thing. Cool kit thank you
