I bleached my 50g aquarium, cycled my tank. When to Petmart (huge regrets) bought 5 Platies. I had one just sitting at the top it died a few days later. Then another one was sitting at the top gulping air. I thought that was weird but was monitoring my ammonia which was slightly elevated at like .5 so I spent another 2 weeks changing water but during that time I now had 3 platies at the top of the water gulping air and the ammonia was at zero. How long they spent at the top would vary from all day to a few minutes depending on the day. After watching enough videos I concluded they must have Gill Flutes. I put this in my tank as directed. During the first week only a few platies came up and gulped air but only for a few minutes. The second week after changing the water and doing the second dose. I now have zero platies at the top. They are all super active, eating more and look much happier. I also had Cory Doras, Pearl Guarami, Cardinals Neons. None of the fish are affected by this product. It was very chunky so i poured in a water bottle and shook it well. Then poured in a bucket of water to let sit for an hour before pouring it in the tank. Because the first time I put it in the fish tried eating it. Very happy with this product and I now shop at a quality fish store and not Petsmart who have all their tanks connected and don't treat the fish.

It helps that I’m a veterinarian who treats fish. This is a new derivative treatment composed of Praziquantel. It’s effective against “Flukes” (Trematodes) and I verified three things across 5 test tanks. (I have a lot of tanks hahaha). First I verified I had flukes as a single / sole infestation. Then I treated most of my tanks properly following instructions and then rechecked with my microscope confirming clearance. [x] However: In my Oscar tank I unintentionally did NOT do a second treatment and concluded that the first treatment was not enough. That was ENTIRELY on me. But I confirmed it worked.
