BAK Revolver X4 Rolling Hard Tonneau Cover is the best on the market
This is my 3rd BAK Revolver X4S on my 3rd Ford F-250 8’ Bed. After researching every other product on the market, I keep coming back to BAK. Their products are extremely well designed and install easily. Their product adds safety, security and beauty to your beloved truck!I was able to install it myself in about 45 minutes and it lined up and fit perfectly. No permanent holes needed for the Revolver X4S, and it can be removed later very easily and quickly (although I have never had a reason to remove it because it rolls up and is kept in place by straps that are provided. You do not lose any area in the bed because it rolls up on top. This is a huge benefit to people like me that use their trucks for work, constantly going into Home Depot or Lowe’s and don’t want to get ripped off. My prior experience is that they are not 100% water tight, however, they do keep your tools dry!One additional huge benefit is that you can install a Adarac ladder or sport rack without interfering with the operation of either.

Not secure at all.... easily defeated. no better than a vinyl roll-top for security. False sense of security.
Did not come with mounting hardware... awkward large item to have to return, and useless without the mounting hardware... will update the review if Amazon or BAK can send me a hardware kit and installation instructions. Aside from not being able to install it, it seems okay.Update: Amazon didn't help with obtaining the missing hardware, but BAK was super-helpful, and sent the hardware pack overnight at no cost to me.Update: I installed the bed-cover with the BAK hardware, but alas, this thing isn't what it wants to be. First, the forward bulkhead seal doesn't work very well and leaves two big gaps where water can come in. Interestingly. the side-runners are very waterproof, and a lot of thought seems to have gone into making these water proof. Unfortunately the locking system is easily defeated... with the tailgate locked, I just slipped a long screw-driver in through the aft weather-seal and pulled the latch-cord... pops the tonneau lock open, even with the tail-gate locked... completely defeats the purpose of buying it. I can't be bothered to return it, so I'll have to modify it to make it more weatherproof and secure... I figure I can add a steel cable on the inside so it can't be opened without the tailgate being unlocked. Lastly, after a short drive on a cold day (20F) , with the tonneau rolled up, I wanted to roll it flat... no can do... the rubber freezes in the rolled-up position and it won't lay flat.I wish I had just bought a one-piece bed cover (yup, the grampa truck bed-cover)... the only kind that gives peace-of-mind when you have your pricey sports gear in the bed of the truck at a hotel overnight.

Three Years Later do yourself the favor and read this review.
I purchased this for my 2017 F350 long bed and was pleased for about a year or so. The rolling top has also proven to be pretty tough from a perspective of strength and security as well. The top was particularly appealing because I could just roll it up when I towed my gooseneck trailer. Here we are three years on and I’ve experienced a few problems which effect the top and its operation as a roll up top. There is a felt type material under the top that is glued to the aluminum slate, the glue failed more than a year ago now, and there is felt now loosely flopping around in the back of the truck bed. Is it a problem? As for function, yes; the felt gets wrapped around everything in the bed of the truck and presents itself a pain in the butt when loading and unloading items from the bed. Can I live with it? I have been for a year but only because I can I paid a hell of a lot of money for the bed cover and I’ll be damned if I’m not going to use it. I am displeased that after two years it’s falling apart, and now three years into it there are even more problems. Second major issue is that the vinyl material cover the top began cracking around six months ago; again is it a major issue? Well it is to me of course because it’s rather expensive to have all these issues. The vinyl cover over has shrunken also and pulled away from the sides of the bed cover exposing the aluminum slats beneath it. Now of course pollen, dirt, dust, and everything else has managed to work its way in between the exposed seems in the aluminum slats and has become troublesome to roll up the top.I’m the guy who services his truck when the book says I should; I get the book stamped and keep all my receipts so I can give them to the next owner and show them I take care of my vehicle. I’ve taken care of this top, I’m confident I’ve been extremely good to it and if I hadn’t had the issues I have then I’d have kept on using it. Now it’s been taken off the truck and set aside as a lesson learned for me. I should’ve bought the Ford cover, it would be easy to simply go to the dealer and have them address issues. That being said, a friend of mine has the Ford fold up top on his 2017, and hasn’t had any issues. His appears to have an aluminum cover as opposed to the vinyl that I have issues with, he does have the felt either so he simply doesn’t have the issues I have with mine.

Looks and works great
Had the older model on my company work truck and liked the look and function. I wanted one for my personal 2021 f350 and started reading reviews on how the felt was falling off and sure enough noticed the felt on my work truck was coming off.I installed this myself in less then an hour. I don't think there is a better option. The felt has been replaced with rubber/vinyl inserts that appear to be crimped in to the aluminum underside. The black finish is a nice touch also. Time will tell how it holds up.

Felt that covers the slats to avoid being pinched or burned has fallen off
The top structurally was great until the covering started shrinking. There are slats that separated and so it no longer rolls up or unrolls easily. I have to put it back together anytime I roll it.. I've had the cover 3 years now. The felt that covers the slats has melted off. The glue apparently got too hot due to the amount of heat the bed captures and it melted off. The felt doesn't seem important, until you pinch your fingers or burn them while rolling the cover back. And there's not another way to roll it back!!! The Texas heat is just too much for the glue. I've tried to re-secure it, but it just falls off again. I've started leaving the top loose at the tailgate so that heat can escape - but that defeats the purpose of having the bed secured and safe! I wouldn’t recommend this cover.
