Excellent basic 'home' performance, but I can't vouch for gaming or OC.
I'm not a gamer and I have no intention of overclocking. But I wanted a CPU that could be installed on a MB that was also compatible with a Ryzen CPU just in case I wanted to upgrade later on. Also, as a budget build, I wanted an APU with integrated graphics so that I didn't have to invest right away in a GPU. Thus, this APU fit the bill nicely. Not only is the speed adequate for my purposes, but the price was comfortable. Even running 1080p video, iTunes, two web browsers, and a few other programs simultaneously, I have never seen the APU's temperature top 43c, which I'd say is pretty good in an old PC case with limited ventilation and only one extra case fan for exhaust in back. The smaller stock heatsink and cheaper fan seem to work adequately for heat dissipation, though it does take a while for the CPU to cool down once it heats up. If you're OC'ing or plan on doing heavy gaming, the stock cooler here may not be adequate, but for basic 'home' uses, the fan rarely needs to run at more than half-speed to keep things going at a cool and comfortable 30c-33c, so it stays pretty quiet.Overall, I'm satisfied, though I won't be surprised if I decide to take up gaming and discover that the stock cooler can't quite keep up.

Great value for a light machine that needs an integrated graphics capability
I bought two of these recently to build light, less expensive, less powerful machines. I was always an Intel fan but thought the AMD builds seemed compelling. Great basic processor for running a home computer or work machine that doesn't need a dedicated graphics card. The display quality for regular office applications via HDMI was still outstanding. Not the fastest machine around but an excellent value. If you buy an AM4 Mobo you could get a new machine for around $450 and add a Ryzen processor later if you want to expand the capability.

Young gamer build. Perfect for Minecraft, Overwatch and more.
Budget build for a 12 year old gamer. Paired with a $100 msi motherboard. Just using the integrated graphics card, this processor does really well. I was able to slightly overclock it. He plays Minecraft and Overwatch with no issues at all. It can handle most games that are rated T. It also streams 1080p YouTube and Netflix no problem. I would recommend it.

NOT FOR GAMING. Just get a Ryzen from the beginning
Not for any gaming. Save for a Ryzen. I had to upgrade within weeks of getting this. Did not suit my needs. Replaced it with a Ryzen 5 3600 and am much happier. Now I have a great $70.00 paperweight :-/ ...... just donโt.

Great for a game and media server
Mini ITX build with no graphics card built into my entertainment center used as a Plex, file, and game server. Very surprised with the power of this APU, I haven't used it for any gaming but I've seen videos of it running GTA 5 and Fortnite with only the APU and 16gb of ram. For a file and Plex server, it runs great while hitting about 55c for very short periods.

THE solution to flash your AMD BIOS for Raven Ridge!
Is it a great processor especially now? Probably not, however, the secret lies in that you can utilize this processor in a new AMD RYZEN 2nd generation build in order to flash any AM4 motherboard into accepting a much more powerful processor! In other words, it lets you utilize a much less expensive (although still pretty great) motherboard with the newest AMD processors! Taking the PC to a shop actually costs roughly the same price as this processor, and if you buy it, you can loan it to your friends :-)
