Great add to the pack
Wanted a new backpacking meal, and this sounded appealing. PROS: - GREAT taste - Easy to prepare per package directions - Super lightweight - Filling - says 2 servings but I used it just for myself after getting to camp and it was satisfying CONS: - If you are looking for protein, this is not the place to find in. (I dehydrated a can of chicken and added that on the side to bulk this up with calories and protein) Will repurchase!

A tasty supplement for a meal. Added the rice to a ramen dish for extra calories after a long hike. Very tasty, made it a standard bring along.

Not it for me
I was debating bringing this on my next trip but I wanted to taste it to be sure. The mango, while having form, has no substance or flavor. This mushy mango with a sharp sesame overlay is unfortunately not worth the weight or space on my next trip. My rice rehydrated perfectly.

Delicious!
Flavor and texture were both great. Ive used the other major brand of freeze dried food for years when I dont feel like making my own for camping/backpacking and the other flavors from backpackers pantry caught my eye. Im going to be trying more flavors for sure!

Totally misses the mark
Got this to add to my weekend meal plan since i love this dish. Figured it could be a good morning snack so why not?! Now i'm not expecting it to be as awesome as a restaurant or home made but i'm not even sure what they were going for. It didn't hydrate fully. The rice was almost hard and very little mango or coconut flavor was even present. Wasn't expecting it to be sticky but to not have any of the flavor that one expects from mango sticky rice was disappointing. I did eat a few bites to make sure i mixed it enough - maybe i didn't, but alas, it was not something I'd want to eat ever again. I suppose if i hadn't eaten in 3 or 4 days, i'd manage to get it down but right now, into the trash it went.

Mango Curry Chicken
Not a great experience - tastes ok but not like MSR. Too much turmeric and not enough mango. Closer in taste to a chicken curry than a mango sticky rice.
