works for some!
while many people swear by emu balm for joint pain and it has been used traditionally for centuries, it doesn't seem to do much for my joint pain, saying that my daughter used it after football for aching muscles and was convinced it worked so has now added it to her kit bag. Comes in a screw top pot and melts onto skin easily, strong eucalyptus fragrance that some people may be put off by, long shelf life and a little goes along way so if it works for you its decent value.

Overpowering fragrance, not effective for pain relief
I have been using this balm for a few months to give it a fair trial. The scent is overpowering - even for someone who likes the individual ingredients - but the balm feels nice on the skin, thick and moisturising any dry areas. Honestly though, I did not it find it effective for pain relief, which is the main reason for purchase. Perhaps the warmth and massage application would work for more minor aches and pains, but it didn't make the slightest difference to my pain levels.

100% natural Emu balm for minor aches and pains
I chose this Emu balm as I have a painful knee condition and other minor aches and pains. I prefer to use natural products as much as possible so was interested to try this 100% natural product as I have not seen anything like this before. This Emu balm contains ingredients to soothe, ease discomfort, warm and nourish the skin, such as Emu oil, organic beeswax, Omega 3,6 and 9, clove bud oil, eucalyptus oil, black pepper oil and more. The balm is solid in the pot but melts as soon as you apply it to the skin, meaning you can massage sore areas easily and without applying pressure. The smell is initially quite strong of eucalyptus but lessens over time, I think it is more pleasant once it has worn off a bit. Even though I massaged this in, it still took quite a while to fully absorb into the skin, which was left feeling nourished afterwards. I didn't notice any warming effect at all with this balm, which isn't unusual for me as other products of this nature don't warm up on me either, no idea why. You only need a small amount of this balm to treat individual areas so the 50g sized pot should last for a while, it has 2 years shelf life once opened which is good. Personally, this balm was not the most effective for me, it worked ok on minor aches and pains but did not really do anything for the painful (permanent) knee condition that I have. This Emu balm is quite expensive, but I know that natural products always cost more, and if this was more effective for me I would purchase it again. I'm not sure if this Emu balm is value for money for me personally, as I didn't get great results from using it, everyone is different though.

This cream is caught between being a cream and a gel. I tried this on my knee, and it didn't really work for the pain. I know it's supposed to be really good, but it just doesn't work very well. Although others might find it works for them, I wasn't impressed by it.

The first thing I noticed about "Y-Not Natural Transwarm Emu Balm" was its wonderful eucalyptus fragrance - and that was prior to taking the cellophane wrapper off the box. The balm, itself, looked like bee's wax; it was a light straw color and was not runny. The balm went on easily and left my skin very soft and smooth; I did not notice any effect on muscle or joint discomfort. However, my husband is sensitive to fragrances; his eyes began to water and his nose began running. I had to wash the balm off immediately for his symptoms to abate. Unfortunately, I'll not be able to use this lovely balm.

This is a good product for sore muscles, tired feet and stuff shoulders. It is a very nice blend of different oils including emu oil, jojoba, tea tree and more. The consistency is what I expected from a balm , it is not a cream or lotion, but is easy to apply and a little goes a long way. It does feel warm and relaxing. The warming sensation lasts for a long time. I didn't time it, but I felt the warmth for more than 30 minutes. I will be getting this product again because it took care of my itchy insect bites on my ankles, too! Bonus! This balm does have an aroma of wintergreen, and menthol, it isn't bad, but probably not what you want to wear on date night.

This cream does work but has a strong odor. I have used blue emu cream before and it doesn’t have the strong odor. I prefer the lower odor variety. However it is a great pain reliever and works well. If you can get past the strong smell you won’t be disappointed as it is 1/3 the price of the other variety.
