Is this small enough to travel with?

The box is about half the size of the regular Ticket to ride and shorter. You could travel with it. It is a shorter and faster game with fewer players. I like it.

Can this be used as an expansion with the original game if not, is there an expansion?

This game is a stand-alone. It's "coffee-table" sized and has no expansions. For more info, I can play a 2-player game of this in 10-15 minutes. A 2-player game of the base TTR would likely take closer to 45. If you're looking for different things to try, consider map packs. You'll need the base game to play those.

How large is the map?

The board is about 11 x 18 inches. The map itself is considerably tighter than other Ticket to Ride maps, with only 15 stops total.

For kids, would this version or ttr first journey be best?

It depends on the group playing. I find that with parents or older kids playing along to coach on rules and options, a 6 year old can play the normal game just fine. When it is just a group of kids from 5 to 8, then the kids version is a better option. Dave

Great Easy Version of Ticket to Ride

Fun, quick version of the game. Easy to learn (hint people afraid of the original game, try this one) I wish there was a larger San Francisco version, there are many more landmarks that could be added. But then it would be more expensive and less people would buy it. I love San Francisco, and I love ticket to ride. Note: this should be sold at every tourist shop in SF.

Ticket to ride for my home town

The game is basically Ticket to Ride with a couple fun mechanics added. The addition of souvenirs and larger board for one of the city sets is fun. Be sure to review the setup carefully for the souvenirs for the proper scoring. This set includes ferries like the Europe and UK version.

Compact & fun!

It was smaller than I expected, but it was still totally worth it. Instructions are easy to follow, artwork is really cute, and the game is really versatile to where we will probably never get bored of it. I feel like this is a classic🙌

Fun version of classic game!

The cable cars are a fun twist on this game. It is also nice to keep score as you go— makes the game a bit more competitive, in my experience.
