I plugged in monitor HDMI cable into the adapter but nothing comes on the monitor. I think I should return it

When I update computers, I still needed access to my old computer. This allowed me to send video to my TV and not use a seperate monitor to view documents.

I went to plug it in & everything. Nothing happened my screen said “no signal”. So I’m. 100% it’s broken or it just doesn’t work

Product works as advertised, but I didn't pay enough attention to the fact that it only works up to 60Hz vertical. Many VGA modes are actually 70Hz vertical, for example classic 80x25 text mode. 640x480 is 60Hz and works fine, but try 320x200 and you will be in trouble since that's also 70Hz. Plenty of information online, just search for "VGA mode timings," and there are other vertical timings such as 85Hz which also won't work. 43Hz interlaced (1024x768) also does not work, I've tried it. But 640x480@60Hz is good.Also! For modes above 60Hz, the split video shows some interference in the monitor. But since this is out of spec anyway, that's not a knock on the product, just a clue for when you've gone out bounds.
