Basic Concepts in Pharmacology: What You Need to Know for Each Drug Class, Fourth Edition 4th Edition

This reference is totally different from either of Lange's amazing compilations. This reference, although some may find it to be somewhat rudimentary is exactly what the Title states! It IS basic and it IS a review of the drug classes themselves. This is a great reference for me because before I begin really studying a class of drugs for my BCPS I review the overall BASIC CONCEPTS of each drug class first. It is also written in a clinically oriented yet very understandable for any non-healthcare professional dialect which is comprehensible to patients while concomitantly being thorough enough for the healthcare worker. I just like the book. Great layout, not really big or heavy, just a nice, clean review reference.

This book is very condensed. In doing so, it does not contain the detail of a textbook but it does have the take home points of a drug class. I read the chapter in this book before attending lectures. The chapters are straight and to the point with some helpful study tips. The material is organized in a easy to study from way. I highly recommend this book for people looking for a refresher or just seeing pharmacology for the first time.The seller was also excellent. I could not have been happier with my purchase!

I love this book. It is not comprehensive, but it puts the drugs and classes into simple categories and generalizes things in a way that makes it easy to understand. With this basis of understanding, it's easier to then delve into the details of the drugs.

This book is not a reference -- you'd want Goodman and Gilman's for that. What this book does very well is take a drug class and in a few crisp, clear words tell you how it works and why it works that way.

I will be clear and to the point; you will not be disappointed with this book. You will learn and retain all the information and will understand your meds very quickly! There is nothing else to say!

Book I needed for FNP school, seems to be an easy read and easy to understand the material alongside what my teacher is lecturing on.

It is basic. I was looking for something a little more comprehensive but overall a great item. The price was right.
