Not as stated
This is cheap bracelet . I'm use to a bulky hair bracelet with 20or more strands. this is a small one It's about 10 strand bracelet . It would be great for a small woman, not realty for a man. It's stated this us a four knot bracelet , it is but two of the knots are glued on , so only two move, so it truly a two knot bracelet . You get what you pay for !

Elephant Hair Bracelet
I'm not much of a "jewelry" person, but was interested in these, seeing picures of them from African safaris and hearing how the natives made them. The best price I found was on Amazon, even with items from the same company. They are well made but the processing of the elephant hair gives it the consistency and appearance of plastic. The knots slip to adjust to most (all?) wrist sizes but also has a tendency to loosen when worn, which is an irritant. All in all, the best value is here if you want to have an African good luck piece.

Wish I had done some more research about it first
After waiting quite a while to receive (it comes from Africa, for real), I had time to do some research on this subject. I rather regret buying it as there is no way to prove that no elephant was not harmed in the collection of the hair, in other words its difficult to say where the hair came from regardless of the claims. If I had it to do over I would not buy it. Elephants are majestic animals and I do not want to support the poaching or harvesting of them in any way. Do your research first, then decide for yourself.

Two Stars
Very cool, but they come apart. Was disappointed it did not last longer

Broke
Item broke after 3 weeks. Made of dried out what was suppose to be elephant hair. All elephant products have been banned from being imported into the US by US Customs.

Arrived way ahead of schedule
We ordered both the 4-knot and the 2-knot (separate orders, same day). The 4-knot arrived over a week ahead of schedule, which is impressive coming from Zimbabwe Africa. Even though the bracelets shipped separately, they were given the same US Postal Service tracking numbers. The 2-knot bracelet still has not arrived (covered in separate review) and am trying to track it down. The quality of bracelet is very good, however as stated in another review, the processing makes the hair feel like plastic (or maybe it is plastic-I've never touched/felt/seen elephant hair before.)

Plesantly surprised
Great service, However I expected a little more uniformity around the knot sizes. But, considering the price of the item and mailing expense all the way from Zimbabwe Africa to the North East of the US, one can understand that one gets what one pays for. I will not only recommend this vendor, but when possible I will order me another higher quality / priced item for sure.

Elephants may have been killed
I own a bracelet & ring given me by my sister in the 1970s from her Peace Corps stint in Africa. I will never wear them -- it's like advertising that you support the killing of elephants, who are highly intelligent beings who grieve just as we do when a family member is killed or dies.
