Good thick heavy leather. This vest is much heavier than my prior vest. Purchased during winter so not sure how well works in summer sun yet. I like that the liner can be unzipped in order to secure my patches on the back. Purchased, as I wanted to have a zipper instead of only snaps because I kept popping the buttons open while riding with my other vest. I also like that the collar is higher. Arm holes are large enough and comfortable, easy to add a hoodie or my full leather jacket under the vest. NOTE: I did buy a size larger than what my measurements are and still pretty snug fit. Decided to loose a few pounds because of it and now fits very well. I did find the zipper starting location at the bottom of vest was a bit weird for my taste as it is about an inch or so just above the bottom of the vest. Possibly for the best while riding so that there is a bit more room near the bottom. Have not tested while riding yet.
