Not Exactly Flat Face Dog Friendly
I loved to use this bowl for my pug puppy. She mastered it pretty quickly but I like the fact that I made her work for her food and slow down. I don't want her to inhale her food. My one complaint is that it is very hard for her to get her face into the compartments since she is flat-faced (pug). I wish they made some sort of a configuration that maybe had wider compartments to give the dogs more room to get their face into once they've opened it up. I realize doing this would mean a larger feeder or less compartments, but we've stopped using it about a year ago because I'm afraid she will injure herself by trying to smash her face into a small area to get food.

I can feed her in a regular bowl and she eats like a normal dog
This dog bowl does exactly what I bought it for! My female husky is a bit of a piggy herself. She used to INHALE her food and sometimes that would make her throw up because she wouldn't even chew. I got this bowl and she quickly learned how to maneuver all the doors and twists to get to her kibble! She has a large muzzle (60lb dog), so she has to use her tongue to grab her nibbles and this slows her down a lot. After using it for a couple of months, I can feed her in a regular bowl and she eats like a normal dog. Amazing how it trains! Fun to watch them use it, even funnier when they go back and check all the holes 2-3 more times incase they missed something, lol.

Good product, not challanging enough
I don't have any problems with the product itself. The plastic is not sharp on the edges meaning I don't have to worry about my dog being cut. It was easy to assemble and has done exactly what it was advertised to do. I only warn you that if you have a highly intelligent dog (like my border collie) this bowl becomes old news quick.

This one was not easy for him to operate so he chewed the pink ...
My dog has used many stimulus toys successfully. This one was not easy for him to operate so he chewed the pink plastic parts off almost immediately. It then became a danger so is now a thing of the past. He is a cocker-retriever mix, adopted when he was 9 mos & about 27 lbs of pure genius. :):):)

Use for smaller dogs
I have a Doberman mix who doesnโt chew his food I probably have every trick feeding bowl out there! This just aggravated him. I think it would be good for a smaller dog!

simple toy or smart dog?
I bought this toy with the hopes of: a) providing my dog mental stimulation and b) making her slow down when she eats. Unfortunately, it took her only five minutes to figure out how to master the toy and its been ineffective ever since. its an okay purchase - i just think there may be more challenging dog puzzles out there.

Great Idea
This is a great product. My husky definitely was able to slow down while eating using this interactive bowl. We have used it for 6 months, but my husky has learned the tricks and is beginning to eat faster again. May have to switch between bowls.

Slows down my Swedish Vallhund!
It definitely did slow down my Swedish Vallhund. She doesn't chew her food and still doesn't, but at least she isn't eating all of her food at once. It's starting to show some wear from her teeth marks and a chunk of plastic missing. Overall, it's a good product.
