Didn't last long!
Used once to make saeurkraut - all OK. Used for second time to make kimchi. All week the jar was leaking but I assumed I had overfilled it, and fermenting etc but then i noticed a massive crack!Too late to return, so I will still use the remaining jar. Now I'm scared it will crack as well. I think the glass may be too weak and can't cope when you pack down the cabbage..

Great for Kefir...
I use these to ferment my milk kefir, they are sturdy and stable and have a breathable one way valve so gases can escape and contaminents are kept out... They are easy to handle which is important when preparing kefir as you need to be able to juggle the fermentation chamber and a sieve, the lid is removable which is a good thing, I found out by trial and error, that 'kilner jars' are not so great, as the lids flap about...I would say these are a perfect size for kefir, the larger ones available would probably be too big... I highly recommend these jars, they came exceptionally well packaged with absolutely no possibility of breakage, lots of bubble wrap envelopes and sturdy cardboard... Five stars all round.

Just right
Bought as a present for our son-in-law and he says they're just right and is very pleased with them

Could be better.
The profile of the glass container would be better if it had parallel sides - compressing and weighting the food would be far easier, whether container full or partially full. The silicone valve is not easy to use and does not have a positive action when opening or closing.
