3 lite choices, flat surface, even lighting
A very good product. I am using it to copy B&W negatives using a mounted Canon rebel about 7 inches above negs. I am keeping negs 1 inch above lite unit so any minor fuzz, specs, will blur out. I wish the neg copiers for sale had that space, would make work a lot cleaner. I can use ISO 400 at f7.1 w shutter speeds ranging from 1/10th to 1/500th. I use f-stop preferred mode. My standard lens does the job for closeup factor. I made my own neg holder, but I am sure most 120 holders should work probably better, just add some 1" spacers below. I use an adobe product to invert negatives, but prefer Apple to do cropping, straightening, etc. as I work faster on it.The light box has a smooth consistant light spread and can be used perfectly for tracing or even lighting up subjects to be photographed. It has a centered spot quite small but I only use a portion of lite box so no problem.

PERFECT
It's a MUST HAVE for viewing and culling old slides before scanning the "keepers". 24 slides can be viewed and compared at a time, fast and easy to see. My single slide viewer was slow and frustrating. Haven't tried scanning pictures from the Light Pad. Right now I'm culling thousands of slides. It's great, no problems.

Well made. Nice even light.
I was looking something to update my ancient negative viewing light box, and this was perfect with one minor issue. The power and brightness level should be two separate switches. Otherwise, you have to cycle through the three power levels to get back to the off position if you use it a lot at its lowest setting. Otherwise it's a very well designed and well-made product. Great replacement for old-school light boxes.

This did exactly what I need
I'm digitizing thousands of 35mm slides from two combined families. They have been stored for decades in the old projector reels in storage boxes. I was limited to a one-at-a time slide viewer for sorting the thousands. This is a very simple, affordable solution for ordering the slides to be loaded and scanned in order for a file-naming standard the maintains proper sort order. The only potential problem was that the item was shipped in a very light-weight thin box which was apparently crushed during shipment. I expected the device may have been damaged, so photographed the box before opening. It was fortunate the device itself escaped damage and is functioning well.A nice feature is that the device uses the USB cable as its power source, so no additional power supply is required. I can simultaneously view the slides on this device and my computer screen as 'Large Icons' side-by-side for checking scans.

Steady hand needed
Converted slides to digital and worked alright. Used my phone but you need a really steady hand and editing afterward.

Perfect for scanning photo negatives
Purchased this light box for scanning film negatives on homemade camera scanner. This light works perfect. It size allows for the negative frame to be moved as needed, the light is the correct temp for scanning. Easy to use switch and the ability to use either USB adapter plug or USB battery pack makes this just what I was looking for.

Absolute Joke
I hate being so gullible to believe this would work. You basically get a lighted pad that connects via usb as nothing more than a power input to the lighted pad and an app that you download that is half English, half Chinese. In many ways, to save you money and experience the results at home without buying this travesity, lay the negative on your table or desk & take out your phone.Choose a cool color filter from the camera app, and take a picture of the film strip. You will literally have the same quality as what this rip off delivers… which is a far cry from that glorious, high resolution large picture they have in the product description.I would also be wary of the privacy and security issues of their app on your personal phone as well for obvious reasons.I’d like to get my money back but don’t want to deal with returning the stupid thing.
