What I like, plus a chic tip - updated 10/2023
What I like, plus a chic tipThe classic size of disc planner is a wonderful size to work with. The downside? Having to re-purchase planners whose dividers are not reusable and whose pages are not designed for my needs.I purchased these dividers specifically so I could have sturdy, reusable, neutral monthly dividers. Opaque plastic is not the most obviously chic of materials, but I found that I could elevate the look by using my brother labeler, clear tape, white font.Adding a beautiful scrapbook paper behind each frosted-transparent divider also helps. It is so easy to bring my divider to the store and try it out before purchasing paper. Or just leave it plain. The two main brands for classic size planners are HP and Park Lane. They are nice for people who love bright and garish colors, and mottos like "you go girl!" And "you've got this!" Parklane has the edge because they have planners that do not put half of a monthly spread on the back of a monthly tab divider...But they tend to have busy looking patterns also, and not necessarily coordinated ones.So when I found these neutral translucent dividers in the classic size with six tabs each I saw that it was the perfect product for a monthly tab set that could last for years. Yes, they are sturdy, easy to work with, and they can handle common-sense use for multiple years, because they feel just like the ones that I have been using (covers) for years. With a very sturdy cutting tool, it is possible to create a classic sized neutral cover from a larger cover. Laminating a beautiful paper with your aesthetic is another way to create something that coordinates with these lovely neutral dividers. Choosing an HP planner might also work, just peek inside the cover and see if there is a gentle and beautiful interior design and flip the covers to the outside. I have several like that, and while not strictly elegant, I think it really does elevate the look of the planner. These dividers definitely have a cleaner, more neutral look than any that HP or PL can offer (though a little spray glue + pretty paper can create a new look to allow repurposing those, also.Eco tipWhile I do plan to design my own pages at some point, and I already use a paper trimmer (many are available here on Amazon) to cut scratch paper to size for my different sizes of disk binder. So many pieces of paper used on just one side comes in every day. Since I'm always pre-planning or sketching out ideas, it's great to have free paper to do it on in every size. I also still have HP and Parklane filler to use up.More chic tipsI also recommend the Natalie Rebecca line - I think her dividers are beautiful but I did not select them because her 12 month tabs are grouped as 5, 5 and 2, instead of just one or two rows that equal 12. If that doesn't matter to you, but you love minimal chic, have a look at her various versions of chic minimal pages that are very attractive. Multiple sizes, including classic HP.The main thing is to find/use page layouts that work for you and your life. As a Freedom Filer fan (also on Amazon), that has a system to help people easily and continually keep their files purged almost automatically, I am starting to think about designing my planner with automatic purging, also: monthly spreads are the logical format for long-term storage, to recall events. No more than two sheets per month, max. After 40 years, most people don't want 40 years of weekly and daily pages, but would love a quick flip through of various years' activities. So I will be using monthly calendar/journal pages separate from others. It can sit on my desk so I can look at it as I plan on weekly/daily pages. Undated pages have the ultimate in flexibility and can be a blank slate for page decoration. I loved adding little numerical date stickers to my Park Lane undated monthly spreads. Having these sturdy monthly dividers makes it easy to use and reuse them for decades.Happy planning!10/2023 update with ideas:These dividers are suitable for using with happy planner pages. I love my Levenger punch tools, and those work fine with these tab dividers. But my HP dividers, which I have recovered with coordinating paper so I can reuse them, are not compatible with the paper punched with Levenger punches - the paper overhangs the tab a little bit. So I f you want the freedom to mix and match dividers and pages, and create your own Pages, it may be worth it to get a Happy Planner punch, also available here on Amazon.Yes, I took some of my old happy planners in the classic and the big size, covered the previous year‘s calendar and anything else I didn’t like with a more attractive paper, and put both standard disc paper from Tul, Levenger, Martha Stewart, and I discovered that in the big/letter size, the paper Extended past and partly obscured the tabs on my beautiful HP work life planner. Then, having carefully measured and cut classic size pages, and punching them with my Levenger punch, I found the same problem. Getting the happy planner punch that’s big enough to accommodate both sizes resolve that problem.I have successfully covered Plastic dividers as well as used planner dividers with the paper of my choice using A trimmer, and ordinary glue smoothed very thin. I love how they look. It’s a great way to feel productive while watching TV in the evenings. In some notebooks I use a knife to cut the tab shape so that the pattern on the paper tells me what’s inside that section, and other times I use a sticker of some sort. When it comes to longevity for these classic size binders, I made a wonderful discovery. If you have an old computer that still has Microsoft office 2010 on it, you can print calendars, docs/notes, address books, task lists, spreadsheets, whatever you want… In that particular classic size! I have had a hard time finding classic size paper that hasn’t been cut yet that also has no lines or any printing on it. I sincerely doubt that disk band punched paper is going to be happy going through a printer or vice versa. But I found a solution. If you don’t have your local office supply store cut down a ream of paper for you, you can cut paper yourself with a trimmer to fit and to run through your printer. So far, I am repurposing old scratch paper. When I’m ready to do even prettier planning, I will probably have the office supply store cut me some paper if I can’t buy it blank and ready for printing. I found the price they quoted to be reasonable. And while you’re at it you might as well have them cut the leavings and create custom disc binders from what’s left. You can create your own version of a “skinny mini” if your printer allows you to create custom sizes to print. You can repurpose other old dividers by cutting them down and simply use a compatible punch to do both sets of holes. I have also made more pages for the HP micro and mini sizes. Nice for scribbling notes on the go that you can stick into the proper section of a binder for later attention. My absolute favorite thing to do to use my classic size binder and dividers is to use old 2010 Microsoft OneNote to organize projects and their Next Actions. For those not familiar with it, OneNote is visually organized on your screen like a binder with sections and pages, and you can also post those into sub pages and section groups. The main thing is that it’s very easy to see and access different pages quickly. Unlike the new version that is free (I don’t know about the paid one), you can create summary pages that show only the items that you placed checkboxes next to. You can ask her to show you all the checkboxes in a notebook, or any of the sub categories. You can ask it to sort alphabetically by either the name of the section or the name of the page. This means you have an amazing tool for managing projects and printing out the list of next actions that you want to accomplish in the next Day, week, month or just print the entire project on a single page. This is a game changer for people who love the GTD method of getting things done, And if you want it to happen in your classic size planner. So far I’m doing at the eco-friendly way with paper that’s blank on one side. Maybe I’ll use a touch of glue to stick a couple of these together so it has pages more like a book.So to sum it up… You can make these plastic dividers look amazing with a little glue and cutting. You can re-purpose your HP dividers successfully in an eco-friendly way that is also cost-effective if you buy the HP punch. If you like the idea of repurposing an old opaque plastic shelf liner, the extra heavy duty Levenger punch will let you punch it with ease.I hope this inspires and informs your paper planning!

Perfect for Frankinplanners
I am a fanatic Happy Planner. My planner has 7 different planners in it at all times. I needed some tab dividers for the different sections. These are perfect. They are sturdy without being too thick. I can see through them so both pages of my planner are visible at all times. I love them. I bought the top and side tabs and use both. Highly recommend!
