Truly humbled
I have no words to describe how inspired I am. I was humbled to read of her holy life and holy actions and cannot help but feel so far from where God calls us all to be. I hope that through Christ I can humbly serve the Lord and be a small voice of joy in this cloud of darkness presently looming over our country and world.-Grace M.

One of those books you just can't put down!
I have read many stories and biographies of St. Catherine of Siena. This is her life story told in a way that awakens the imagination to what it would be like to live in the Middle Ages. It reminds one if the great fight between good and evil, and the benefit of seeking all that is good, true, just and beautiful. The Church is worth fighting for!

Times of St. Catherine come to life.
Louis de Wohl does such a wonderful job of weaving relavent historical events with known facts of St. Catherine's life. Anyone who has an interest in the life of St. Catherine will find this to be a "page turner". All of Mr. de Wohl's stories of the Saints are excellent - I have read most if that all.

excellent! a must read.
I read another book about St Catherine of Siena years ago which was very good but I especially love to read saint books by Louis de Whol because they come to life in his capable hands. I was thrilled to find Lay Siege to Heaven in Kindle and gobbled it up. De Whol's books are never dry nor boring. They are always engaging and give us glimpses into the lives of our beloved saints. Catherine is a favorite of mine. I'm sure after reading de whole's version of her life, she will become a favorite of yours and you will rush to read every one of his books. Happy reading!

This is a beautiful story written in fiction form about the life of St. Catherine! I enjoyed the book so much that I wanted more about her. I ordered from Amazon The Life of St. Catherine as recorded by her Spiritual Director. The story "Lay Siege to Heaven" written in fiction brings you right into her life as she grew up and has visits from Our Lord as a young child. Very interesting and informative.

Excellent
I've been a member of a parish named in honor of St. Catherine of Siena and I knew absolutely nothing about her. Before reading something "non-fiction", I wanted to let Louis de Wohl introduce me to her. I've read one other book of his, "The Spear", and through that experience I was able to visualize the Gospels more fully. After reading this book I'll look at some biographies on St. Catherine of Siena, and I expect the narrative image provided by Louis de Wohl will enable me to better appreciate the bios and the life of this great saint.
