Pirates of the Caribbean - 5 Film Collection [4K Ultra HD]

Films have been restored really well been wanting to get these Films on 4k for a while but it was worth the wait

A few years ago, I enjoyed watching the complete film series of Pirates of the Caribbean on Blu-ray (1080p) on HD-TV. I recently bought this 5-movie collection set in 4K Ultra High Definition and Dolby Atmos, which should have provided a far better visual and audio performance. After watching a couple of movies from this set, I felt that the picture quality was similar to (or even less than) 1080p, and the audio was closer to Dolby Digital 5.1. The occasional audio and image distortion resulted in an unpleasant experience! I watched these movies on an 80-inch screen using an Ultra Short-Throw Laser Projector, Dolby Atmos speakers and an award-winning UHD Blu-ray Player. I certainly expected to see a wider colour gamut, producing crisper and detailed images, regardless of whether these discs were ‘native 4K’ or ‘upscaled’. The sound of Dolby Atmos is clearly identifiable, but I did not experience any immersive sound effects from these movies. In conclusion, based on the Pirates of the Caribbean Collection that I purchased, the picture and audio quality were very disappointing - far less than I expected from discs claiming to be 4K Ultra HD.

This set cost just on £80 the 5 discs come in a single dvd case,there are no blues included in set,and to make mattere worse the 4k pictures are so dark as to be almost unwatchable on a home 4k tv

Loved the Pirates Movies and now I've got them on 4K and in one case. Worth every penny to upgrade to 4K. Saw it recently for $10.00 less than the list price I purchased it for, but hey still worth the price.

Great movies Johnny Depp still has it.

These are great films, and better than ever now in 4K and great value for all 5 films. Delivery was quicker than expected which is Awesome!

What you get are the five movies in 4K. There are no extras. The one I received was an all region Australian import. In my case, ignore the "Region B" warning message on the product page. The video and audio quality is very good. Dolby Atmos but no Dolby Vision.

Disc set comes with all 5 Pirates of the Caribbean movies. You get five 4K UHD discs only. There are no matching Blu-rays. No Digital codes. Discs are HEVC / H.265 codec and in HDR. Some discs are higher in Bit count (Mbs per second) than others. Region free Australian release playable in the North American 4K UHD players. All-in-all an enjoyable collection to watch.
