Extra happy (and a bit jealous) my kids have more options
I survived severe teen-hood acne (which I later learned was primarily irritation based eruptions i repetitively exacerbated with harsh acne treatment) and never want my kids to go through it. I’ve been reviewing and testing different products to ensure they don’t go through what I did and I was EXcited when i actually developed a zit at my age… i grabbed this tube to put it to test and was thrilled with the results the next morning. The size shrunk tremendously but the skin wasn’t raw and harsh and hurting, just shrunken and healing. I also like that this sulfur product doesn’t have the alcohol or colors, the photo shows the opacity at time of application but it dries down almost clear so it’s not embarrassing to use any time of the day. I’m impressed and delighted :) It helps heal the eruption, not torment it into a painfully tragic and crusty death on your face :)

Great for cystic acne
Love this product for when I feel a cystic pimple coming on. If tend to layer a dab on the spot and let it sit for a few hours. Then wash my face. It can cause over drying, so be careful with that. But it gets rid of my cystic acne within a day!

Contains phenoxyethanol
Every time I used this it seemed to not only make the spot worse, but create more acne. I couldn't figure out how that could be possible so I kept using it, thinking I must be crazy.I recently found out that I'm very sensitive to one of the ingredients, phenoxyethanol, which is why this was causing me such problems. What makes me so unhappy, though, is that I have found out that phenoxyethanol is controversial and that it is a known skin irritant. I don't know why so many companies include this in products for people with sensitive skin if it is a known skin irritant!

Works but not great for dry skin
First, I don’t think my skin type is the best candidate for this treatment. I know that so I’m not saying this is a bad product, just not best for my skin. Sulfur is a drying ingredient, and from experience using other products with sulfur, it can sometimes exacerbate my dry flare ups. But in addition to having dry skin, I also have sensitive skin, and I sometimes get acne spots that don’t respond to my BHA toner. (And I absolutely cannot use benzoyl peroxide products, major irritation any time I’ve tried that ingredient…) So I thought I’d try this as a spot treatment. It did help clear up the acne (so yay!) but it also severely dried out my skin in that area. I used it one night, then two off days with my normal routine, then once more on the third day. This “cycling” schedule has worked for me with other drying actives so I thought it might be ok for this treatment. I woke up with a red reactive patch of skin where I applied this. So maybe I can use it one time on a breakout without irritation, then I have to try something else for that breakout. So I probably won’t get much use from this but if you don’t have dry sensitive skin, this could be your holy grail spot treatment. The texture is nice, and the scent is ok but nothing masks the sulfur scent, so be prepared for a little stink. All in all, I’m glad I have it on hand for any stubborn spots, but I know my personal limitations with use/frequency so I won’t get the full benefit from this.

Add your moisturizer first
A lot of reviews mention the cast this product uses and I found applying my moisturizer and some face oil prior to spot treating, reduces the likelihood of any casting being left behind. Also, a little goes a long way. I appreciate the tiny pin point opening on the tube as it’s all you need. I’ve used other sulphur spot treatments in the past and this one does not have a foul scent to me. Helped clear up breakouts I was having after work travel across the country and back.

This is fine. It cakes on. Not sure it dries anything out. Will probably not repurchase but will finish up then tube.
