Yes, acrylic paints can be used on fabric.  The key is to not try to get too heavy of a coat at once.  Do a couple of thin coats and allow some dry time between coats.  Happy Decorating!

Can this be used on basketball shoes

The Plaid Apple Barrel Paint is "ideal for a variety of surfaces, including wood, terra cotta, styrofoam, plaster and tin".  I would suggest a fabric or textile paint for your basketball shoes.     The Plaid brand does have a paint for textiles/fabrics-one I found is called "Plaid Delta 8-Ounce Textile Medium Acrylic Paint" and it will dry with more flexibility.  Hope this helps.

Yes...I have an old oil drum outside my nice home and I decided to use Apple Barrel Acrylic colors to create a brick look on the oil drum. It matched the brick on the house and looks so nice as it blends with the house exterior. I did this in 2007 and last year I just touched up the drum to brighten the colors. It has never chipped, run off or faded very much. We live up in the mountains so there is lots of weather including cold, heavy rains, ice, heat and wind. I also use the paints to change interior paint if I want to use up some old paint. I just painted a rock/moss scene on my cement floor in a bathroom in the basement. I used a clear poly product to protect the floor. It is holding up just fine. I also use these paints to create education "board" games for kids using heavy shower curtains. I teach environmental programs and we are usually outdoors. After the kids get done using the game I just hose it off and fold up the paint. It never peels, cracks, etc. Hope this helps.
