Great fit, durable
Great cycling shorts, very supportive, and the padding is in the right place. Durable I expect it used to last a long time.

Good cycling shorts for a big guy
I am a big guy, 250 lbs. Fit well. True to size. Comfortable. I have been on a few rides wearing them, no bunching and no chafing. Overall good product, good price.

Great for stationary biking
Medium amount of padding. They fit well and snug and donโt shift around on me. I have more a more athletic build so usually things are tight on me but they fit well and didnโt ride up. I do two hour stationary bike rides pretty regularly and they definitely added comfort to those rides. At around 90 minutes Iโm still a bit uncomfortable and could use a little more padding

Fit well. Padding decent but not Generous.
Just bought a pair of these and did a 15 mile road ride. They were fairly comfortable. I wore out a couple of gel padded shorts and got these. Even though the padding in these shorts is thinner, the feel downtown is about the same. I have a fairly firm saddle and am โonlyโ 170 pounds. If youโre heavier, I can see where the pad might not be enough. Iโm a senior; 170 pounds; 5โ 9โ; normal male body distribution. I bought large and they fit pretty well. Possibly slightly tight but they are not uncomfortable. My hips measure slightly below the large in the sizing chart. Waist is within the large size. It seems like Iโd be swimming in the extra large. Some reviewers have mentioned how long they are. In my case, 5โ 9โ, the shorts extend down to about 3 inches above the knee. They are not too constricting at the bottoms as others have said (I have no fat on my legs, so YMMV). If you have proportionally shorter legs, I can see where these might hit your kneecaps. If you are a little fuller around the hips and waist for a 5โ 9โ 170 pounder, large might be a bit tight. Reviewers mentioned the leg and waist bands are weak. That isnโt my impression. A woman reviewer wrote that there is a fold in the pad in exactly the wrong spot - center bottom if you get me. I can attest that her pair wasnโt a fluke. Mine had the same fold, which is fine for a man. The fold sort of went away so I guess women could roll the dice and wash them and hope for the best. I paid $45 for these and now they are $65. Iโd say they are great for $45. When you get into the $65 range, there are other competitors to consider. So far, Iโm happy with them.

Pearl used to be the best. Now theyโre meh.
I only use shorts for indoor riding these days, I use bibs when outdoors. I bought these on prime day because they were a pretty good price, about $32. I have worn pearl shorts since the 90s and theyโve always been good quality and fit very well. Unfortunately, these are quite low quality. The first thing I noticed was how thin the chamois was. Sometimes thatโs not a bad thing because bulky ones can be just as bad or worse so I still wanted to give it a try. They feel OK for indoor riding but anything over 30 minutes theyโre not great. The big problem is the fit. While all the fit around my legs is fine. The waistband has almost no elasticity to it and is low cut in the back so they fit loose and sag in the back. I keep having to pull down my jersey and pull up the shorts because of plumbers crack or at least the sensation of it. Iโve never had bike shorts do that before. Theyโre so loose! I bought a cheaper pair of Baleaf in the same size a week prior and they fit far better and have a better chamois. In short, I would not buy them again and do not recommend them. This experience may have turned me away from pearl in the future.

Not the quality I was expecting from PI
Definitely not the same quality shorts they were 4-5 years ago- I have had several pair, so I know. These Pearl Izumi mens medium cycling shorts use to be fabulous 8 panel shorts (far Right 2017) and a heavier gage material, full waist band the entire circumfrence of the top opening. The middle pair is 6 panel and I got them in 2019.... Today, the pair I got are tight- like a half size down, (far Left 12/2022) and they are 6 panel and a lighter weightโฆ and the waistband is only partially finished/ reinforced on the posterior waist and not the entire circumfrence. Even the reflective features are getting minimalist. I like mens shorts because the leg inseam is way longer and the rise on the top of the back of the shorts is higher, so doesn't slide down/ roll like womens do. I need to find a new favorite manufacturer- These use to be amazing cycling shorts, but not any more.

Excellent Bike Shorts
I have worn Pearl Izumi bike shorts before, but these are a distinct improvement. The fabric is certainly more stretchy and breathable. The gel padding is far superior to any they have had before. I have a firm seat and did not get near the pressure points I've noticed before after a half hour or so of riding. I highly recommend these shorts for anyone riding indoors on a Peloton or stationary bike, or outdoors. Much improved and much appreciated.

Pearl Izumi padded shorts have a good fit, smallish, discrete but very effective padding. They donโt ride up your leg. Highly recommend

Good fit. Decent chamois for spending a few hours in the saddle. Good value.

Estan muy comodos, el unico pero es que me gusta que el short me cubra casi hasta la rodilla, mido 1.80mts y me quedaron mas cortos de los que acostumbro usar.

Comfortable padded short and the only thing I wish they had was a waist drawstring. It would help for keeping them in place a little better.
