Thermostat is still working almost a year later so I defiantly would recommend this product and will buy another part

Different thermostat connecter pin
Bought this unit for my 2004 bmw 525i the sensor pin is different from my original so I had to switch the sensor to my old one couple weeks later my car stated throwing code 279C I also tried to switch the thermostat to the original bmw but this thermostat is built and designed different could not work so far haven't had any other issues if this continues im gone have to switch back to the original plastic thermostat my guess is that the metal thermostat gets way hotter than the plastic and may cause issues am gonna get a new sensor to see if that solves the issues

DO NOT BUY! HOUSING CRACKED IN 5 MINUETS!
thermostat housing cracked within the first 5 minutes of driving the vehicle after replacement. WOULD NOT EVER RECCOMMEND TRYING THIS PRODUCT ON YOU VEHICLE, IT MAY LEAVE YOU STRANDED AFTER IT CRACKS. The housing split after proper installation and driving normal speeds on the road. Smoke started to slowly rise from my engine bay, and upon pulling over i noticed the housing was cracked and pissing coolant everywhere, to where my fan spins the coolant around and kicks it all over the engine bay and all over the hood. Would never try this aluminum thermostat again.

Helpful piece in the 'war' against BMW overheating!
I have this item in TWO of my Bimmers.I wish BMW made more cooling components out of aluminum, as any Bmw owner knows the cooling system is a critical failure point on these cars! This is an affordable piece to help mitigate some of the overheating issues that may arise.
