A more affordable Super Jumbo handcrafted out of beautiful tone-woods from North and Central America. The SJ-100 Walnut is the high performance cousin of the legendary SJ-200 the "King of the Flat-Tops"-based on the same iconic shape and proportions. Built using beautifully figured Claro walnut back and sides, a Sitka spruce top, and distinctive dense granadilla for the fingerboard and Moustache bridge. The peg head face is crowned with a stunning walnut veneer for an elegant touch. Finished with a stunning Honey burst pattern.

Gibson and Martin
I bought this sunburst model along with a Martin D15m and they we're both my first high end model guitars. Before I had these I had an old restored Washburn and a few others along the line with most notably a seagull coastline grand, so nowhere near the quality of the Gibson and Martin. The first impression I got of this guitar after opening the hard case it came in (which is a nice case by the way) was how gorgeous this guitar is in person. The pictures really don't do it justice. It plays and sounds amazing! It's set up nicely right out of the case; however the action could go lower, but it isn't too high by any means. I'm 26 years old, and I'm excited to see how this guitar along with my Martin age over the years to come.

Worthy upgrade to the King of Flattops - avoid Signature model
Full disclosure - I'm a lifelong Dylan fan and cover him as a journalist. I have learned to play more than 200 Dylan songs. I also own a decent collection of Martin acoustic guitars, Fender Tele and Stats and a Gibson ES335. I've owned J-45's, the Blues King, SG and other Gibson acoustics but always end up selling them. This is the first Gibson acoustic that impressed me enough to keep it. The J-200 is the biggest sounding, country style guitar I've ever played. It strums with authority and the finger pickin' is might fine. I'm surprised that a maple back/sides guitar sounds this good. The standard J-200 has a Sitka spruce top which is wonderful but the Adirondack spruce on the Bob Dylan Player is a tad nicer. The extra bling on the Player's model is a matter of personal taste. The Dylan Signature model is silly, way over the top and $10K for this model guitar is dumb. There are better guitars at that price range.Important factoid - when first released, Canada (Long and McQuade) got 5 of these. 2 of them were B-stock and one had a fretboard that should never have shipped from Bozeman. I can't speak for US inventory but I would not buy this guitar in Canada. For some reason, we are getting all the substandard Gibson product and at this price it will make you cry. I had to give the dealer a stern lecture to get the awful one replaced and I never went back.

Magical Guitar!
I also just purchased one of these guitars. It arrived in San Francisco, California, from Sweetwater, Fort Wayne, Indiana in tune. It is gorgeous. It is quite a bit lighter to carry around than my J-185. The pictures don't do this guitar justice and neither does You Tube as far as the sound of it goes. One commenter who does not own the guitar on You Tube made the comment that with the two pick guards it muffles some of the resonance of the guitar. I don't agree with that statement at all. Haven't had a chance to plug this guitar in yet. I am editing this review to say that you must hear this guitar "live." Listening on YouTube does not do it justice. I just love it to death.

Stunning and great sounding guitar.
Love this guitar the build quality the look and the sound wow what an awesome work of art. It has the Sj-200 sound without all the brightness of a standard SJ I do believe it's because of the double pick guard. My 2nd Gibson but she is my new #1. The back and sides with there AAA flamed maple resembles tigers eye totally stunning. I will have this one till I leave this earth.Great guitar well worth the money.

Not good ...... not good at all.
This seems like a god buy, normally these are £2089.90 and this was £1,596.89 from Amazon warehouse.Guitar delivered on the delivery date but very poor packing, it arrived with a large piece of the cardboard box missing and poorly taped together. An Amazon warehouse item described as "Used - Very Good - Item is in original packaging, but packaging has minor damage. Small cosmetic imperfection (less than 2.5cm x 2.5cm) on sides of item. Small cosmetic imperfection (less than 2.5cm x 2.5cm) on back of item."First thing I notice when I opened the box was a label hanging on the case which said "headstock splice and paint", my heart sank !!!Inside the case was full of wood dust and chips so it had obviously had a visit to a repair shop. The Gibson guarantee was there but all other "case candy" was missing. The headstock had indeed been spliced and painted, the repair was very obvious. The splice looked like a neat job but the paint was poor and the tuner mounting rather crude. The thick brown was a fairly good colour match but had covered the grain pattern and pretty much completely filled in the serial number and "made in usa" stamp on the back of the headstock and extended down the neck to around the 5th fret after which the grain is visible again.Obviously the repair was done with some care and attention to detail which is why the tuners are surprising because they are so crudely reattached, the E,A,B and E tuners are all sitting proud, you can clearly see underneath them and while some turn fine others are quite rough. The serial number is visible on the sticker inside the body, 11765033.Looking inside the body there appeared to be some staining towards the neck joint, I have other Gibson and Martin acoustics and all are extremely clean inside so I'm not sure if there has been repair inside as well or perhaps it's to do with the walnut body which I'm not familiar with ?Obviously it's been returned, I have no problem with guitars being repaired if they have been damaged but obviously a serious repair like this needs to be mentioned up front and will have a serious effect on value even if done well, this repair however leaves a lot to be desired.I though Amazon warehous deals are open box or returned items, I would expect a guitar lke this to show up on evilBay but it's not what I expect from Amazon.Dissaponting ....
