The cooked rice has a beautiful glossy look. A delicious rice with subtle flavor and fragrance. It’s from the Japanese area I specifically wanted it grown. Not as expensive as other short Japanese rice, but no American grown rice for me, you can taste the difference. Do not waste leftover rice, make onigiri, it’s easy.

Amazing rice it reminded me the flavors when I was in Japan.

Overall, I’m happy with this rice. It’s more affordable than most of the other Japanese short grain on Amazon and the quality is above average. Wish it had a move complex flavor profile. I’d purchase it again though.

I lived in Japan for a few years and bought around a hundred different brands and types of rice and this right here is above average for what's sold there. Everything but the taste was right about it. I just wish it had a more impactful flavor. Anyways, even with it only being above average, it's astronomically better than anything you can purchase here in the US at regular supermarkets, most niche stores, or especially the "cheap" "Japanese" brands here on amazon. They in particular use rice grown in California and that's disappointing. They're tricking their buyers with rice that is legitimately, more often than not, used as animal feed in Japan or at best, single serving prepackaged rice sold at convenience stores in plastic microwaveable containers.

I like Japanese rice and was looking for rice from Japan. It has a nice texture and is tasty!
