RIDGID18V SubCompact Brushless Cordless 6 1/2 in. Circular Saw (Tool Only) R8656B

I haven’t had it long so we’ll see how it holds up, you can’t beat Ridgid’s free battery replacement program if you get them from Hm Dpt and register them. For 86 bucks this brushless saw is def worth it, especially if you already have batteries. With a 5 amp hour battery it will burn through 2x6s no problem, 2.5 amp hr batteries slow down a bit at the end of a 2x6, but not a huge deal. You’ll probably replace the battery once or twice all day. I even cut a 5.5 by 10.5 beam with it, finishing up with a sawzall. A 7.25 inch blade still would have required a sawzall to finish that so it really doesn’t matter that it’s blade is smaller. Definitely not as robust as my bosses 60 amp hr dewalt but way lighter, and 3 times cheaper with free replacement batteries to boot. Cuts straight. Nice and light for those awkward cuts. The blade guard is plastic so we’ll see how it holds up. I think it’s good supplement to a plug in worm drive for those awkward cuts or areas that are hard to get an extension cord to.

Bought this to augment the rest of my Ridgid tools. Cuts like it should and battery life is pretty good with a 4ah battery. Small, compact and great to use when you are hanging up in the rafters or someplace where a small saw is needed. Only bad thing about purchasing up here on Amazon is you cannot get the Lifetime Warranty on the tool :-( To get a lifetime warranty, you have to pay a little more and get from Home Depot. Lesson learned, but I'm still ok as I'll probably NEVER wear this tool out - with a brushless motor design, this saw will outlive me I'm sure.... Get one - these saws are GREAT!

This little saw works great. I've used it on 2x4 and plywood so far and worked great. Compact and light makes it super easy to use. I have upgraded batteries and used it for a couple hours with perfect smooth operation.

I bought this saw from a different source. It is incredible! Used it to build a 32x40 post frame building and everyone who has used it on the project has been amazed. We used it for everything except ripping osb. The rafter hook bent a little, but this saw is a winner!

RIDGID does not make a fence for saw nor can the retailer recommend a substitute. Consequently, I was going to purchase most all of the tools but I didn't because they cannot offer a $12.00 tool accessory. Doesn't anybody at Ridgid ever use this type of saw.
