This volume is very nicely done but considering the title, I expected to see many styles of shoesthat would be considered "sexy" in today's world. This was more of a shoes-through-history book.There are so many other examples that could have been included. I suppose the author had reasonsfor what was put into this book. Overall, I find it very interesting and a good enough reference forthose looking for a particular style of shoe.

I highly recommend this book for shoe makers.

The book is OK. It did not have enough pictures of vintage shoes to suit me. But it did have a lot of interesting information in it. And the shoes Mr. Walford pictured were very pretty and very unusual.So, If you love vintage shoes I would recommend this book!Happy reading. S Kivo

This book provides a fascinating insight in to the history of the shoe over four centuries. There are numerous illustrations with excellent descriptions. You will be captured by the plethora of styles and how footwear has evolved. It serves as a very useful resource reference. The Seductive Shoe is a must have for any shoe or fashion addict.

Great book written by a fabulous person. The pictures are great and the shoes are to die for. Why can't designers provide shoes (and clothing) like this now.

This is by far one of my favorite vintage fashion reference books, Jonathan Walford did an amazing job putting together this gorgeous coffee table book of shoes throughout history. I use it often in my vintage clothing business.

wonderful selection of shoes featured and interesting, informative text. I was also pleased with the straightforward as opposed, to arty, design of the book that showed very clear photographs of pairs of shoes which serve beautifully as reference for paintings(i love to paint shoes!) It was a pleasant surprise to see a to see a number of Canadian made shoes including a John Fluevog designed pair that i wore in the mid 80's.this is the second book of Jonathon Walford's that i recently bought(Forties Fashion was the first-also wonderful and informative)and i will definitely look for more

this was a great girly gift to give my best girlfriend for her birthday. It came wrapped so I was unable to see inside until the birthday girl opened it. Great book
