Much better than I was expecting
[Staring at own shoes] Hello, my name is Terry and I'm a headphone aficionado.I wanted a pair of bluetooth cans for non-critical listening, and came across these on Amazon while they were on sale for 40% off MSRP. Honestly, I didn't expect much because I'm spoiled; I own a few top-of-the-line wired headphones, including multi-kilobuck planar-magnetics such as my beloved Audeze LCD-4 and Hifiman HE-1000, which are typically plugged into a high-quality solid-state or tube amp (depending on my mood), a pricey digital-to-analog converter, using audiophile-grade cables ... the works. I also own and enjoy the Oppo PM-3, the Bose QuietComfort 25 (travel only), and the good old Sennheiser HD600. I've owned the Stax SR-007 and the Sennheiser HD800S, and auditioned the Focal Utopia at length.Frankly, the bar for the EVEN EarPrint H2 was low — I expected, at best, to be able to tolerate them just fine. But damn if these don't sound really, really good. The H2 will create a custom EQ setting for you based on a built-in two-minute hearing test, and it's no gimmick. Sure, the virtual test-giver is a little annoying in all her chipperness: "Awesome!", she'll chirp, or "Now you're getting the hang of it!," like she's a camp counselor addressing a sad new arrival. But the test does result in a personal hearing profile that the EVEN H2 then applies to all subsequent audio streaming through the 'phones. The first EarPrint I took yielded disappointing results, but I had admittedly been sloppy by doing the test in front of a hot computer (with whirring fans), and with audible traffic going by in the distance. At first, music was congested and too low in volume even at maximum levels. After I re-did the test in a quiet room, however, totally different story. My tracks sounded just as I'd come to know and appreciate them: organic, detailed, coherent, and loud (when turned up). With or without the EarPrint in the picture, the H2 sound is, to me, a little tubby and sometimes woolly in the mid-bass (sorry 'bout the argot). That said, the bass goes pretty damn deep, and the quality and quantity are enough to put a little smile on my face when I listen to bass-torture tracks like Marcus Miller's terrific "Cousin John" or Kanye West's "Love Lockdown." The H2 shows its limitations when it has to render complex orchestral pieces or rock and jazz tracks with a dozen or more instruments; it then tends to get a little shrill and imprecise. On the plus side, detail retrieval is very good, even excellent on acoustic music and vocals; especially male voices sound natural and not too chesty; and the timbre of all kinds of instruments, from cellos to guitars to trumpets to snare drums, strikes me as very nearly spot-on. Attack — how fast sharp transient notes are reproduced — is also very good for a pair of 'phones with dynamic drivers, but predictably not as stellar as the results from planar-magnetic or electrostatic headphones. The H2's soundstage is nice and wide, if sometimes a little diffuse. On the whole, these 'phones tend toward a warmish and slightly mellow presentation (as opposed to analytic and etched), which is just the way I like it.Both the H2 itself and the EVEN Earprint iOS app let you A-B your music — that is, you can switch your personal EarPrint on or off, so you can hear the effect for yourself. I much prefer listening with my custom profile switched on. This is smart technology that, I think, will only get better with time. Future models will presumably take a finer-grained snapshot of the user's hearing ability, by measuring more than the current eight EQ bands for each ear.More critical points:(1) While comfort is impressive for an on-the-ear set of cans, after a while I become aware of a little pressure on the top of my (large) head. An extra half-inch of space in the adjustability of the headband would probably do it. (V-Moda 'phones flat-out don't fit me, if that helps you gauge how big my noggin is.)(2) I think the H2 is beautifully designed and lovely to look at, but the walnut earcups somehow look and feel like simulated wood to me — that is, plastic. Tap them with a fingernail and you get a "tic" instead of a "poc" (I know, first-world problems). I hope that subsequent models will be milled / machined / treated to better bring out the quality of the wood.(3) No noise cancellation. That's OK, I wasn't expecting it, and my Bose 'phones do fine when I travel by train or plane, but it would be a nice bonus to have a noise defeater on board in the H2.(4) I worry about the built-in rechargeable battery, as all batteries degrade over time. What happens in two to four years' time (rough estimate) when these cans no longer hold a charge, or when their use-per-charge has gone down from the current 20 hours to half that, or less? I'd prefer a user-swappable battery — even just a pair of AAAs.(5) I'm not really a specs-hound, but this one caught my eye: up to THREE PERCENT THD (total harmonic distortion)? That's a bunch of orders of magnitude above the norm. I'm not docking stars for this because maybe the issue is academic; three percent THD may well be below the threshold of human hearing, I'm not sure. I *do* know that my 50-something-year-old ears didn't pick up anything untoward in the distortion department. Still, that number made me sit up and ask, "What gives?"Moving on: Something I really like about this product is how simple and ergonomic it is to use. The four buttons are easy to find by either sight or — more importantly — touch, and four strikes me as a good number (as opposed to one- or two-button bluetooth 'phones where you have to memorize patterns of presses to operate all the functions). Pairing with my iPhone X and several oldish MacBooks Pro was quick and painless. The one annoying miss is that when you press and hold the 'volume down' or 'volume up' button, which replays the current track or skips to the next, respectively, the H2 doesn't do only THAT; it also lowers or raises the volume by one 'click,' forcing you to readjust the decibel level every time. It only takes a second, but that gets old. These quibbles aside, the EVEN EarPrint H2 is a pretty fabulous buy, even if you listen to high(er)-end headphones at home. The bluetooth connection frees you from being tethered to a pile of gear, so you can move about and even dance — but that's not where the surprise lies. The surprise is that for around $200 or less, you can buy solid wireless cans that easily, effortlessly put you in touch with the music. Rather than sounding like a more or less acceptable compromise between convenience and quality, the H2 is a serious, and seriously enjoyable, audio product in its own right, bluetooth or not.

If you have moderate hearing loss, get these headphones !
These headphones are truly a godsend for me. I cant remember the last time I could actually understand the lyrics to a song. Gone are the muffled garbled sounds. Now its all crystal clear. As an audiophile I feel I have my life back. My first pair had a defective button. EVEN replaced the unit very quickly with no hassles at all. First rate product - first rate service !

I'm happy with them
After using these daily for a month or so, I'm happy with them. I haven't had any issues with "the button" not working or failing. I find the sound, for my aging and damaged ears, is excellent, and I really like that the sound is individually tailored for my hearing — that makes a BIG difference to me. They also look great and have very sturdy construction, with really excellent battery life. I have two small complaints. First, I can only connect them to one device at a time. So when I boot into Mac OS from Windows and vice versa, I must go through the Bluetooth setup process all over again, every time. Second, the USB Micro-B connector is small and inconvenient to use, but since so many other devices also use this really lame connector, I can at least use one cable for all of them. The included charging cable, by the way, is impressively high quality. I would recommend these to anybody, except music snobs/audiophiles, because they simply aren't expensive enough for them.

A game changer for the hearing impaired!
For those on the fence, I’ve been using Boise for years, worn over my hearing aids, it works but not the most comfortable listening experience. Then I bought these...WOW...even without my hearing aids on, I hear details I have not heard in years. I bought them, paired them with my IPhone, fired up ITunes and choose Neil Young’s “The Needle and the Damage Done”, imagine my shock to hear Neil’s fingers squeak on the guitar strings. Well done Even, you’ve given me my music back.

Spontaneously turns off or disconnects
Love these headphones, but they frequently turn off on their own or disconnect every 5-10 minutes. I've had them for 8 months. When they work, they are amazing. But this issue creates constant interruptions and is very annoying. For what these cost, I expect a lot more. I also have a pair of cheap $30 bluetooth headphones that just work.Lastly, when the headphones connect, you get a sound saying "Yes! Connected!" This notice is unreasonably loud. Again, just too many annoyances to look past. When they work, they are amazing. Often, they don't.

Two words - Just Awesome!
I am hearing the music that i had never heard before.. and let me tell you, my hearing is normal.. I don't have words to describe the sound quality of these headphones.. As the musician rightly says in his video interview on Even website, I hear textures in music that i had never realized(or heard) in past.. I am hearing a quality distinction of the whole effects in each song across myears and head.. I can hear the background singing artists, music, and every single thing.. Music has never been so captivating to ears.. I just don't want stop listening to songs.. If you don't believe me, hear to the songs that you had heard in past, you will just relive those songs like the first time.. Thank you so much, Even!! You have earned my loyalty..

Excelente producto

Easy to set up, comfortable, great sound
Easy to set up, comfortable, great sound but I can’t help but wonder why they are so much more expensive than the Even H4s.Also, the buttons are a little hard to figure out.Otherwise, love them! Very happy!
