This device works very well. I work in healthcare and am constantly washing my hands. I do not have to worry about getting this device wet. The aluminum/blue foam device gets wet and causes wet skin breakdown when worn for long periods of time. The only complaint that I have about this device is that it rides right across the site of my injury (see photos). That often results in slight swelling and more pain. Also, I felt that the device needed adjustment to better straighten my finger. So I tried several methods to heat the plastic and bend it into a better shape. I even tried boiling it. No luck. The shape seemed to stay the same. Also, I measured my finder as instructed, and ordered a device. It was too small and I had to order a much large device. Not sure if I did the measuring correctly. So pay attention when sizing.

I injured my finger back in Oct. 2021 (typical mallet finger injury) and nursed it with many different splints over the course of a month and half (including the aluminum ones with the blue foam stuff). Nothing seemed to help, not to mention that the material they were made of got dirty and the foam fell apart really easily. Additionally, the foam would stay wet, was uncomfortable, and useless after a few days. I initially liked that these splints were simple, lightweight, and discrete (I got tired of people asking me what was wrong). This finger splint was very comfortable to wear and I did not have to remove it to wash my hands, etc. Within about 2 weeks I noticed a considerable improvement in the finger and after a month, the finger was nearly back to normal. Unfortunately, I stopped wearing it since it was getting better, so I never reached 100% "normal", but I believe that had I kept using it, my finger would be completely healed at this point.

They work for bent fingers to help keep them straight.

This is the style and brand that I wanted, but the fact that you have to buy 3 at a time for a significant price and hope that you measured correctly to get at least one of the right size is very frustrating and I hesitated to order them for quite a while. As it turned out, the smallest one in the set does fit almost correctly, but I probably could have used the next smallest size. To get one it appears that I have to order another set of three that includes it, and I do not plan to do that any time soon. That said, the style is the best available for finger issues such as mine.

This finger splint is BRILLIANT!! ♥ (I wear two actually). Finally someone invented exactly what I have been looking for! At first it seems like a simple, cheap, piece of plastic, but don't be fooled, it is not! A lot of thought an study must have gone into making this splint. It is super comfortable, ergonomically perfect, lightweight, sturdy, adjustable depending on which side you slide onto your finger first, and water proof! I can type on my computer with no problem, wash my hands without having to take the splints off, and I don't even feel them on my fingers anymore. They feel so natural now. WOW! I wish I would have invented this, but so grateful someone did! So worth the money!!!!! I wasted lots more money on other finger splints just looking for this one!
