Derek Ridgers is a great photographer who captured some iconic pictures of subcultures of the 1970s and 1980s, particularly in the UK. Some of his photos are well known without people necessarily knowing who took them -- they've just become familiar symbols of those periods in pop culture. I was excited to buy a proper book of his work, rather than the limited edition / smaller catalogues I've seen before -- I just wish there was more to the book. It's a slim collection of images and not enough text to explore what was interesting or challenging about focusing on subjects like these.

You can never go wrong with Derek Ridgers books.The quality is as always top notch, very clear and the street/real life "models" are well selected.A highly recommended book that is worth every penny.

people of a certain age will be transported back to a simpler time when all youth did not all look the same. Amazing how many of Derek's photos are iconic yet the man has such a low level of public awareness. Puts charlatans like Rankin to shame (imho). Looking forward to the next one.
