It’s a poorly laid out US recipe book
This book is advertised as being for the UK and has a Union Jack on the cover and says for beginners UK in the title which is so misleading. The book is printed like someone wrote the whole thing in word and there are no pictures to see the eventual dish. Recipes use cups mostly with metric conversions as a later add on. Most recipes are very focused on the US and use American food terms. Overall it’s poorly written, cheap design and you can print every recipe from internet sites and staple them together ending up with a superior version of this book. I would say avoid

The title...A little misleading to me.
I thought that the book was referring to those who were new to using the Ninja Foodi Max Smartlid rather than new to cooking. If you cannot cook at all this may be a book for you but to those who can, give this book a wide berth. You'll have to have a table of conversions handy.Firstly this book was not made for the UK market - but I knew by reading previous reviews so was not mad at that. There were only 2 pages dedicated to the functions of the Ninja Foodi machine - that was inadequate. There are no pictures of the dishes in the book, so no real guidance for the beginners as to what your final meal should look like. Some of the cuts of meat or ingredients are not readily available in the UK supermarkets. The book is full of bland and boring recipes eg artichoke with mayo, where you buy the mayonnaise or minty radishes, however there are a few (and I emphasise a few) interesting simple ones. This book would have been far more interesting with images. To some, this may be a Godsend and they may like what they see but I have never used this book and it will gather dust somewhere in the bottom of my recipe book shelf, just because of the lack of guidance on using the machine and the lack of pictures, the pictures IMHO on the front of the book do not necessarily reflect its contents.

It's NOT really a UK book
For a book that is supposedly a UK edition, most of the recipes use 'cups' and 'ounces' as measurements. A few have added the metric equivalent as well. It's obviously an American book that's had the cover altered for the UK market. You'll find ingredients such as zucchini and talapia (courgette and a fish not found in any supermarket / fishmongers I've used - but maybe that's just because I don't live in London or some other major city). However, there are some nice sounding recipes and it's not too difficult to convert the measurements, so I'll keep it and give some a try.

Very disappointing - UK flag incredibly misleading
A really uninspiring book. The cover shows the Union Jack and the title even says "for beginners UK". This gives the impression that this is a book with UK recipes and/or measurements. Nothing can be further from the truth. All measurements are US based (cups etc) and the recipes themselves are very US biased. It even uses american names like cilantro rather than coriander. Also, the whole book is really dull. There are no pictures and no description of the dishes.Bland, misleading, uninspiring and badly presented - waste of money
