I would have to say these are both beautiful and unattractive at the same time because of the quality of time put into it. Looks like a pretty girl who didn't have much time to get ready. A few pimples, yet still pretty nonetheless. Even though makeup wasn't glamour picture ready, still cool enough to go to the club and find a nice guy (lol) Can tell it was a rush job by the way the coating looks as if was running and slapped on instead of smoothed out. The letters/numbers are silver, which is cool, but kind of sprayed on quickly with some silver on the grey (that's no biggie) Each plate had a metal nub sticking out that would need to be filed down a bit with one of the plates having a half centimeter hole, with a couple of small accompanying holes, inside the opening where the bar goes (see pictures) I can only hope it doesn't continue to chip when sliding on and off due to the bar being threaded, so i bought some metal filler for it in hopes it doesn't affect the integrity of the plate. Not too bad, but definitely overpriced (nearly $3/lb) for the quality. I gave it 4 stars even though the seller cancelled my original purchase of $99 each claiming that it was out of stock, but posted it at the same time as being in stock at $119 costing me an additional $40 for already overpriced equipment. A shady move during a pandemic, but to each his own. Would probably purchase again if needed because it could have been worse, given other customer reviews, i got lucky with the small defects. The weight is nice and heavy (every bit of 45lbs) and the plates match each other perfectly besides one having holes in it. It's metal to pick up and put down, so it doesn't have to win a beauty pageant in my opinion. It arrived earlier than expected (A+) so i do recommend at the end of the day. They're more beautiful than unattractive in my honest opinion. 4 stars for the plates, 3 stars for the seller.

they needed deburring
I like caveman like iron plates and these are them, but they had burrs to the point that it would tilt 10 degrees sitting on the bar and anoying to my hand, so as an iron worker, I deburred and repainted them and I'm happy now.PS: at my local gym I weighted iron plates and they were 45 plus/minus 1 pound, but the plastic coated bumper plates were 42 pounds. I was surprised that even at 400 pound dead lifts, I could feel the difference and always felt the bumper weight were like cheating

Cheapest weight I could find, not pretty but it works
Got these because they were the cheapest weight I could find. Considerably cheaper than what I have around me locally. I ordered 2 of the 45lb plates and they both weighed the same on my non certified bathroom scale. They feel equal when loaded onto a bar. The hole is a little more than 2 inches so the weights will clang around some on the bar.The aren't pretty/uniform looking, they both look like they came out of the same place though (same size, color, texture). The paint (or whatever) surrounds them isn't super even and it was gobbed up in the hole some which I filed down before use. I slam them around a little on deadlifts, nothing is chipping off. I'll come back and change my review if anything changes. If you are ultra picky and need your weights to look and feel perfect these probably aren't for you.

My opinion is that these are the plates that failed quality control
Let me start by saying I was refunded immediately. So just my time was wasted.I ordered 2 plates. I read the reviews and crossed my fingers.Unfortunately in my opinion the reviews were very true. Mine arrived and no doubt would have ruined my Rogue Barbell if I used them. CAP has good products that I've bought off Amazon and elsewhere. Unfortunately these plates in my opinion do not make the cut.

DO NOT BUY
I ordered eight of the 45 lb gray CAP plates. They came in ridiculous packaging, either 24" square boxes, or boxes that were like 48"x20"x4" so that the plates had plenty of room to slide around and rip the boxes to shreds in transit. The plates were damaged, although my mailman now hates me. (When the flat rectangular boxes are on the ground, you can't tell where the plate is, so when you pick it up, it's like playing Russian Roulette with your toes)Two of the plates were visibly bent, like records that had been left out in the sun. One defective plate was obvious at a glance. I didn't notice the other faulty one immediately, but when I loaded it on the barbell it wouldn't fit snugly against the others, and if you put the heavier side up, it would instantly rotate until it was bottom-most. Even with that one we're not talking micrometer calipers here, when I took it off and looked at it, the bend was plain, and it wouldn't stand on its side.To the credit of the company, they sent me new plates, and I just had to stick the bad ones in a box (just wrap cardboard around it and plenty of tape, too bad the manufacturer couldn't figure this out) and UPS came to pick it up for free. The rest of the plates are okay. I weighed the six I kept. Weights were: 43, 43.2, 43.6, 43.8, 45.4, 46. IOW acceptable but tending to be on the low side. The only good thing I can think of to say about these is that the diameter in the CAP catalog is listed at 17.75" - and 18" on Amazon - but my bumper plates are 17.75", and these will slide on easily when the bar & bumpers are on the ground, so they're a little bit smaller than listed, which makes loading deadlifts convenient. Also note that I ordered the black CAP weights from Walmart for my 2.5-35s and one of the 35s had about an inch of extra metal on the lip of the plate. As one reviewer said, it's a weight, and I'm looking for garage gym quality, not Eleiko competition plates. Still, I expect them to at least be serviceable, and to not have defects that are visible to the naked eye.
