RY40002 Genuine OEM Replacement Trigger Switch # 526984001

No comment great when it’s the right part.

Well where it start. If I did not need my weed eater in the morning I would send this part back! To start with the shaft that it sits on it's too small. I had to drill it out to make it larger. Where the top of the trigger actuates with safety is too long I had to shave it down. The overall width of the trigger is about a quarter of an inch smaller than factory. So I had to shave the edges off so that the spring insert would work with it. This is not OEM! This is a pain in the butt if you need your tool to work ASAP.

I broke my trigger and got this replacement. It took no time at all to swap it out. Took the handle apart, took out the broken one out and dropped this in. Easy, Peasy!

The trigger lever doesn't fit. It's too narrow and keeps the motor engaged. I should have read the reviews before purchasing and saved me about an hour of my time to install it, mail it back and order another one from another company. This has been a problem since last year and Amazon hasn't done anything to correct it.

The "shovel" end that depresses the internal switch of this trigger is 6/16ths wide; it is too small. The original removed from the unit is 9/16 wide (external measure). Now I need to reassemble the unit and return this one, and reorder. Very disappointed.

I agree with Mark's comment. This piece is too narrow for a Ryobi 40v trimmer, even though the description says it's compatible. If you have a Ryobi RY40002 40v trimmer you need the Homelight part number 526984001.

I broke the handle on my Ryobi and this replaced it perfectly. Works just like a charm!
