Great Book for Adults and Kids to Enjoy Together
This is a really adorable book for young ones. Kids will love the pictures of cartoon ants living their everyday modern lives and doing things kids themselves do, like go to the park. The book has a strong, clear anti-bullying message that demonstrates why kindness and respect for everyone (from people who are smaller or weaker, to tiny animal like ants) are so important. Using the metaphor of ants is a clever way to send the message to have empathy for everyone without being overbearing. There are plenty of puns that adults reading along with kids will enjoy, so reading this book is a great way to spend quality time with kiddos and a fantastic method to open up bigger conversations about the world with them.

A F-ANT-astic Children's Book!
Any adult can see how adorable this book is and the witty writing style of author Larry Gotterer as well as the vibrant illustrations of Coraline Tran. However, the true test was seeing how my 19-month-old daughter responded, and she absolutely loved it! The ants made her giggle and the colors truly jumped out from the pages. It is a gift to be able to captivate the mind of a child, a gift that Larry Gotterer has mastered above and beyond. Larry beautifully combined the informational angle of the life and duties of ants in our ecosystem with quippy language and colorful imagery for both parents and kids to enjoy. I cannot wait to read this every night to my daughter!

A humorous look at life below our feet
With bright and colorful illustrations and an irreverent sense of humor that children and parents alike can participate, this book is one that the entire family can read together and enjoy. Getting the perspective of an ant fed up with humans' treatment of his fellow insects, Please Get Your Shoe Off My Brother deals with topics like death and violence and picking on those smaller than you in a digestible fashion.Never too dark but also not afraid to poke fun, the humor in this book is certainly enough to bring chuckles and belly laughs to those from five to fifty and beyond.

My Godson Will Love This
This book is fantastic. The illustration is adorable and the writing is solid. It clearly gets across all of the points it intends to without being overbearing or uninteresting; the two things that will kill any piece of storytelling let alone children’s storytelling. I also think the premise of using ants is very interesting. It’s a nifty trick to get a kid to comprehend that there are things in life that they will never understand, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t address other living beings with kindness and compassion. I look forward to reading this book to my godson.

A fantastic kids book with humor and heart
Larry Gotterer has written a wonderful book! The story of ants, from the ant's perspective, is so well-done, with beautiful illustrations and a story that will resonate with kids of all ages. We laughed and so enjoyed the jokes, especially some put in there for grownups. Highly, highly recommend this book!

Funny kids book with a good message!
Great book that is funny and also has a good message about kindness and respect for living things. The way the ants were personified it really made you think about how we treat them! Our 6 year old got a good laugh at the puns in this book and also understood the more serious message that it was trying to convey. Great book!
