Mitaki ELANT1 Mistake-Japan 12-Bulb LED Lantern

Not as large as I thought it would be, but it is more than bright enough!
I had been looking for a good dim-able LED lantern for a while. I do have other LED lanterns which work well enough, but sometimes having too bright a light can be undesirable. Sometimes, just a little light is needed to allow one to see in the dark, without actually being blinded by it e.g. - like a night light, should the electric grid experience a power outage...Enter this lantern, which allows itself to be used while dimmed, partially bright or fully bright. Dimmed, it sheds just enough light to see with, without running or bumping into things; increasing its brightness allows you to see more, respectively.Just FYI, these lanterns aren't very big, but they ARE bright, and only take 3-AA batteries. I haven't tested them to see how long the batteries would last, but since they're LED driven, they should use battery power much more efficiently than their incandescent-type counterparts.I bought several of these lanterns for emergency use in electrical black-outs, as well as for camping. For the price, they are perfect for me. The seller (CRAIG B HARRIS) is great, and provided them to me in a timely fashion. I would happily purchase these again.

Decent light - very bright for the size
Excellent choice for emergency lighting. Only uses 3 batteries and has more LEDs than competitors in the same price range.I was looking for a source for the cheesy-looking Brooklyn Lanterns they advertise on TV that my wife liked the looks of.I told her "Hell, I can find them cheaper online!" So I came to Amazon and started searching. Found this one and was suffciently impressed by the description and previous reviews that I bought it.It arrived and I loaded up the batteries and tested it. Nice and bright, definitely bright enough to read by and the dimmer knob makes a huge difference. If you are not reading, it is good to be able to dim it down to just bright enough.I highly recommend anyone in hurricane country get a few of these to use when the lights go out.

Small but very bright!
I bought this for a camping trip that we are about to take soon hopefully! And when I pulled this out of the box, my boyfriend was like:"Ummm...that's tiny! What are you gonna do with that?!" But when I turned it on....wow...impressive how bright that tiny little thing is!!! AND it has different settings of brightness!I haven't used it for camping yet...but I've been using it as a night stand light...I like it better than my actual night stand light...because the light just spreads throughout my room in a more "comfortable/warmer" kind of way.... (hope that makes sense)...

Small But Bright
Not a large size lantern, but extremely bright for its size. Just a note: Turn the dial just until the light is at its brightest. You can turn the dial a little further after that, but all you will be doing is using extra power without getting any more 'perceived' light from the lantern.

good not great but they work
They aren't the most durable but they give off enough light and seem to keep batteries lasting. easy to use and worked well while camping. have used them a few times and they still work. I love the fact that you can dim them. just be careful with the switch, my husband is constantly leaving it on because he thinks when you turn it all the way it's the off position but be careful because the off position is in the middle of stay on and dim.

When they work...
I got these knowing that they were pretty cheap and might not last very long (or at all). To my surprise, 2 of the 3 worked without issue. The third had an issue with the switch where it would flicker as you turned up the brightness and when you hit full brightness it would turn off. Considering the price, I'm pretty happy with what works, plus with free return shipping, I can just order another one if I want.As for how it works, they do throw off a good amount of light for a little lantern. It will easily light up a small room so that you can see what you are doing and would be perfect for a small tent. Considering how light they are, you should be able to hang it in a tent with no issue.

Excellent Product.
Lightweight ut sturdy... very bright! I keep these lanterns located strategically around the house. Mostly for the infrequent but inevitable power outages. I find they are also useful for illuminating dark areas when things have fallen on the floor and rolled out of sight. I like them very much... I will probably buy more.
