Happy tortoise!
We bought this for our son's tortoise, who loves his bachelor pad. Plenty of room to roam around, sun, eat and sleep. Good quality, easy assembly.

Few things to know before you buy...
Just finished assembling the house for our tortoise, Tank, and there are a few things that may be helpful to know. First of all, it was fine. About what I expected for a mass-produced-in-China product. So, overall, I am satisfied. However, it was not perfect and here's the list of flaws, as I see it.- One small, minor scuff on the Plexiglas. It's in the upper corner of the back window so will not affect viewing enjoyment.- There is a fairly strong odor from the finishes and adhesives so I plan to let it air out in the garage for a couple weeks before moving Tank into his new home.- One small piece of the wood was split where a stop for the cover prop was nailed on. Easily fixed with a little wood glue and a clamp.- The wood is finished but was not sanded especially smooth. But it's fine. I'm just a perfectionist with stuff like that.- The adhesive that was used to attach the plastic tray to its frame was slopped on so there was tacky adhesive all around the edge of the tray. It needed to be removed or it would end up with substrate stuck to it. Plan on a half hour with some mineral spirits and a couple rags to do a thorough cleanup. Look, I get it. If I was a worker in a Chinese factory, earning crap wages just so bougie Americans can buy a $120 house for their tortoise, I'd be slopping that glue on, too.- There were no pre-drilled holes in the parts that receive the business end of the screws. By that I mean, say you are attaching a leg to the end frame. There are holes for the screws in the leg, but no holes in the frame. Same for the hinges. They are pre-attached to the cover frames, but no holes in the box. I suppose the intent was to just drive in the sharp screws and let them self-tap, but I strongly advise against that. The wood is hard and dry and some places are fairly thin and you could risk splitting the wood. So, I took the time to pre-drill holes. If you choose to do the same, here are the drill sizes I recommend for the various screws:"A" screws 7/64""B" screws 3/32""C" screws 1/16"Aside from the above, assembly was pretty straight forward and easy and the instructions are clear. After attaching the legs to the two end pieces, you'll want to flip things upside down to assemble the sides to the ends and interior divider. If you happen to have a box clamp that can accommodate 24 inches, you will find that useful to hold things together while you drill the screw holes, but totally not necessary. Once that's complete, turn it right side up and you just need to attach the covers. Position them, drill the holes for the hinges, and screw them on.On the positive side, the house is spacious, light weight, and seems sturdy enough. The plastic bottom is great for containing various spills, nonporous, and should be easy to clean. The legs are optional so it can set on a flat surface. There are convenient supports that pivot up to prop open the covers. I appreciate that an extra screw of each size was included. And the price is reasonable.Overall, I am satisfied with the tortoise house. It will be a fine home for Tank when he's not out roaming around the yard. Couldn't give it 5 stars due to the above issues, but the end result is what I wanted in making the purchase. I'll give it 4 stars, as long as the odor dissipates. It pretty much met my expectations.

Nice enclosure
Bought this for my tortoise and he absolutely loves it. It's very easy to put together and well-built. Also a very attractive color.

Just great
We got a North American wood turtle and she loves this, my kid, teenager, wife as well. The Plexi glass or acrylic see thru side pieces are super cool to view her thru. Especially, with a toddler who wants to open it all the time to see her. The material is nice, the construction is beautiful, and the colors kind and pleasant. For a normal DIY'r (do it yourself'r), i thought it was worth the money and the few days it took to arrive.

Nice for the price
I needed a quail coop/brooder box quickly so I ordered this one. It was very easy to assemble and it is the perfect size for quail chicks. The only issues that I have found so far is that this house it is not very sturdy and that the wood splinters easily. I was hoping to put this house outside but the wood does not have a protective seal on it so it would get damaged in the weather, I'm sure that I can easily add a protective layer. It is a perfect indoor house though!

Get what you pay for
Product was fairly easy to put together. I built it with my 10yr old. Locks on the top are pretty difficult to latch, hope with time they become easier to use. I would say previous pictures I've seen people made the mistake of not latching before screwing the hinges on creating gaps. I purchased this as a cheap brooder, it will definitely hold a decent amount of peeps or whatever you decide to purchase. Other customers complain about a strong odor which is true. I would suggest letting it air out after constructing it for a few days before adding in anything living. I left the bottom drawer off for the time being as well to help it air out so I don't have any complaints yet about the bottom drawer having a gap or anything as I left it off to air out. I think an added bonus is the moveable arm for your heat lamp. If you wanted to you could build without the partition wall however I just put it on but the first week will leave blocked off so my turkeys don't go in there and end up chilled being away from the heat lamp. Overall great design however I agree with most comments you get what you pay for. Cheaply made and I would definitely watch if you have animals that would jump up on it.
