Rail Joiners - they work, snug fit, reliable
What's to say - they're snug-fitting, reliable, and it's fairly easy to solder track power feeds to the underside, making great power connection points while laying track. Pro tip: use a rail connector tool when attaching them, or risk puncturing your thumb - many times! :-)

They fit the rail perfectly and are much better than the Micro Engineering version which are too tight to slide onto the rail. ME rail and Atlas joiners did the trick.

I ordered the wrong code for my track but made these work.
When I received the joiners, I thought they were for Z scale as they were much smaller than the joiners I already had. Then I learned via the web the differences between code 55 vs. code 80. I have code 80 track and these joiners are for code 55 track. I was determined to make these work and avoid the embarrassment of ordering the wrong item. I turned the track upside down, slightly filed each of the 2 sides of the rail to remove the corners and make it come to a blunt point. That allowed me to slide the joiner into the rail and the joiner widened as it went onto the rest of the rail. Although not designed for my track, these look better than the bulkier code 80 joiners and the tighter fit should provide better power conductivity, although I intend to solder the joints. So I'm going this 5 stars as the joiners are as correctly advertised, allowed me learn from my mistake and ended up with something better than expected.
