Best feeding purchase for my dog
These have been hand's down the best purchase when it comes to entertainment and feeding that I have made for my dog. It usually take my dog about 30 seconds to eat his food and with this 5-15 minutes and he is entertained. Not only that but they're mentally stimulating for them (: I recommended it to my friends and I recommend it to you; the reader. I forgot it outside for a couple weeks and finally got a crack (my dog is big and rough) not upset about it though as it's held up quite well with abuse.

Foster dogs love it
Pros:-customize the size of the exit holes-rubbery bits on outside give the dog some traction-hasnt cracked with 15+ foster dogs (I bought a second one multiple dogs can have them at once)Cons:-BIGGEST con is the small thread size on the plastic threads that screw it together. Trying to match up the threads to screw it together is maddening. You have to line up the threads in just the perfect way. Plus, my Jack Russell terrier has learned that she can stand on it and bend it enough to separate the halves. A foster beagle did the same thing, then chewed the inside of one half. Had to replace it.-there’s no good way for a dog to carry it. My Jack Russell terrier picks up on hold by her pointy tooth and balances it on that one tooth to carry it from room to room. It makes me nervous that she’s gonna damage that tooth.Summary: I will continue to use the 2 of these products that I have, but I’ve already switched to a different product for buying new ones.

Beware of noise
I have a rescue dog who eats so fast he’ll choke if he’s given the opportunity. I bought this in an effort to slow him down and it works and it’s also super loud when he’s rolling it around. It’s also sometimes frustrating trying to put it together when you fill it as it’s prone to cross threading.

My mastiff LOVES this toy, but....
My 8month old English Mastiff puppy is as rambunctious as they come, and weighs 100 pounds to boot. The Kibble Nibble holds 3 cups of large chunk dog food in either end, and takes 30+ minutes of constant play and attention to empty. It's a great way to slow down those voracious eaters! Beware other reviews that say this is "not durable for large dogs"...it absolutely IS plenty durable for my large dog. This is a classic case of your-mileage-may-very. Do you have a large dog that pounces or stands on it's toys? This product may not hold up, I can't speak for that. My dog bats it around, crashes it against walls, picks it up and drops it, and many months later, not so much as a single crack.*However*...two very big flaws exist in this product, read carefully before purchasing online:1. The words "treat meter" are misleading. This meter is not adjustable after the first time. It consists of small easy-to-cut soft plastic "prongs" that you snip off millimeter by millimeter until you get the desired dispensing size. You can make the hole larger, but you can never make it smaller. Ensure you're not cutting it too much at the start, the food should not pour out, but rather trickle out with movement.2. My original Kibble Nibble became "locked" or stuck shut. Simply cannot open it anymore. Not sure how this happened...I've tried soaking it in a mild detergent, I've tried WD-40, and I've tried sheer braun arm-torque about a dozen times now. Plain and simple, it will not open. Loading 3 cups of food by hand one kibble at a time really isn't my idea of fun, so I ordered a new one and it just arrived in the same condition. Brand new, does not open. Period. My poor mastiff is staring at me holding it in my hands and wrestling with it, she whines and moans because she wants it THAT bad, but it just won't open. This would have recieved a 5 star rating from me were it not for this particular problem. My advice has to be that, if possible, one should buy this locally and not online, so you can make certain it actually opens when you buy it.Hope this review helps!**Edit** With nothing left to lose, before I pitched these into the garbage I tried one last thing. I dropped the ball onto the ground from about 10 feet in the air, and lo and behold the impact split the two sides apart, with no damage to the toy. Worked for BOTH of them! Still have to give this a 4 star rating though, what a pain in the rear! By the way, a large hollow hard plastic item being dropped onto a hard surface from 10 feet with no damage? If that's not durable, I don't know what is!!!!!!!!!

Finally...some peace!
Let me start by saying I work from home. Now to my dog...if I am home, that means that I am there to play with him and entertain him and walk him and love him. My boss, on the other hand, would prefer that I spend 8 hours a day working on deliverables for our clients. Until my dog and my boss can come to an agreement, I have to do what my boss wants since in the end, that is what keeps the kibble coming.I have quite a few doggy-puzzles in this house so that I can work in peace. The Hide-a-Squirrel was great but eventually was destroyed. Bones are great as long as you can supervise. Kongs are probably the greatest invention for dogs on the face of the planet. I read about the Squirrel Buddy and Kibble Nibble when I was getting ready to buy a Tug-A-Jug. I tend to give one puzzle at a time so the dog doesn't get bored. I haven't tried the other products yet, but for the Kibble Nibble:1) My dog is on large breed Iams puppy. His kibble is average sized, not too large. The kibble came out at an acceptable, easy pace but to make it last longer and keep him occupied I chopped up some carrots and put those in as well. The larger carrots help slow down the flow of kibble. At the end, I just dump the carrots into his bowl and then wash the toy.2) It holds up well to his pawing it around and even dropping it off of the sofa. However, he has tried to chew on it to get the treats out and this definitely was not meant to be a chew toy (teeth marks appeared quite quickly!). When he starts gnawing on it, I take it away from him since usually that's when there's nothing left. I think he could make quick work of destroying it if left alone.3) The way you adjust the flow of kibble according to the box is to cut off the little prongs on the inside of the ball that hold the kibble in (it's the same with the squirrel buddy) The only problem is that once you do that, you can't put the prongs back!4) It is pricier than some of the other toys.Basically, it costs a little more and it doesn't seem able to stand up to chewing like a Kong. But the way that it moves and rattles has been very different and fun for the dog. I would definitely say this is worth keeping in the house if you need to keep your pup occupied when you are doing something, but I wouldn't recommend leaving him unattended for the day with this since an aggressive chewer could probably destroy it pretty quickly. For that, I'm sticking with a frozen Kong or the squirrel dude!Oh and one other thing--I bought all the large sizes of these toys for my dog, and they are all the same color! (I guess they use color to differentiate between sizes). That's okay but I do wish they were different colors. We have way too many purple toys in this house.Update 6/2013: Some of the plastic bumpers have worn off, but the toy has still held up okay!
