This handy little tool has ironed out the wrinkles in shifting on 3 different bikes I own. Wish I had bought it sooner.

I purchase two of these. You do get one when you purchase a new SRAM derailleur but they’re plastic and break easy as are these. I always carry one and a hanger when I ride. I’ve changed a few in the middle of rides or after crash. I’ll probably be back to buy more.

Setting the rear suspension to sag before measuring using this tool is crucial but a pain in the butt for one person to do alone. I ended up airing down my shock and then using zip ties to hold the rear triangle at sag.

Makes adjusting the B gap easy.

I've been a bike mechanic for decades and we used to be able to do everything by feel and experience. No longer however and with my new 12 speed AXS group I realized everything has to be just right. This bit allows you to get the B-limit screw perfect and that really helps the shifting. It was ok before but better now and with a 10 tooth jump between 1st and 2nd gear it's gotta be right on.

If you're using the new AXS system there's not much to adjust. But setting the B gap is key to making sure the system is working correctly. My new bike came set up but was skipping, missing and being funky in the 4-6 cog range and the hanger had never touched the ground. I didn't think this was the issue but checked anyway and sure enough, the B-gap was way off. Once set the shifting was flawless, smooth and quick. The right tool for the job.
