Great little backpack
We got this for our daughter for preschool. It is pretty small, but it is fine for her purposes. It can fit a flexible folder (folded in half), and we usually stick her blankie, sunblock bottle, and a few snacks in there on a regular basis. Couldn't fit much more. We are also ale to stick her water bottle on the outside. If you need to be able to fit a regular folder in it, it would be too small. It is a great size though for her to be able to put on and off and wear as necessary.Ours did not have a strong odor. We have not yet washed it, so I am not sure how it holds up to the washing machine.

Sad We Couldn't Use It
Didn't realize how small this was. Put 20oz bottle in pic for size comparison. Got it for my daughter in Pre-K4, but it was too small. Would hold a change of clothes and one toy. I needed a bag large enough for her folder. Better for daycare or outing bag. It is adorable and very well made!

Item didn't match image, but still cute
The backpacks I got did not match the picture shown. The Fox backpack has red on the sides, not blue, and there is a little blue flower over the left eye. It's still cute, but I wanted something more gender neutral. I decided to keep it but just know that the image is NOT a correct representation of what you might receive.

Smaller than I realized, side pockets are too small for a drink but this bag can always be used as a lunchbox later on

Adorable bag and so inexpensive!
This bag is adorable, especially for the price! I've given several of them to my daughters' friends for birthday gifts and everyone loves them - they fit kids perfectly and none of the ones that I received had a chemical smell like some of the other reviews listed.

Looked better in the picture
Smelled awful and had a bunch of weird creases that didn’t look like they would come out. Didn’t look like it would hold up well based on the creases. Returned do to that and the horrible smell.
