These have worked very well in spite of my initial worry about all the new gizmos as I’d been happy with the older version. It’s hard to know if the flashing light (optional) adds to their effectiveness as it works best at night when I can’t see the cats’ reaction, but if the lack of fouling and bird predation is anything to go by, these work very well. I certainly notice a difference when the batteries run low, although the current batteries have been working for about 3 months, even when having to deal with very frequent visits by both foxes and cats. Heavy bouts of rain do not appear to have seeped into the works and that seems to be an improvement from the previous version. The new instructions also give a better idea of how to adjust the frequencies etc. A fairly expensive but effective deterrent.

Most of my neighbours have either cats or dogs - I have neither - so an awful lot of the local moggies chose to use my garden as their toilet. {Grrrrr!} I'd tried everything else without success so in desperation decided to give these a go when I discovered this type of ultrasonic deterrent is recommended by the RSPB. They ARE effective but it takes a few weeks to reach maximum efficiency - and even then there may be the occasional "blip" if you know what I mean! However, the initial outlay is not to be sneezed at and, depending on the size of your garden, you may need more than one set. I have a modest sized area of garden front and back but found I needed two sets for maximum efficiency. As to battery life, I find this very good even though I have the motion sensors on mine set to maximum. However, as stated, I do not have any pets (or indeed children!) myself so they are not often triggered. I bought my first set well over a year ago and they are all still going strong. Overall, if you have a severe problem - which I did - I would definitely recommend these if you can afford them.

We bought this product 6 months ago. Decided to wait and write a review then forgot because…… They are excellent! They really work reduced the issue by 90% Would buy again!

Only just got these so no idea on battery life or weatherproofability. Thought they were solar so my own fault on that but to attach the stake to the body of the alarm are tiny screws and nuts which are so fiddly and fragile I can’t imagine there will be much longevity of use. If you have any problems with eyesight or problems with your hands you will struggle to screw these together. If I didn’t need them urgently I’d send them back. 3 stars because the stakes are metal and not plastic but let down sadly by the fiddly, fragile plasticky attachments.
