While this is primarily marketed as a drying mat for dishes, it is also stated that it can alternatively be used as a trivet to protect surfaces from heat. And, that's the feature I was interested in. I had a 3.0 cu ft mini fridge/freezer combo unit at work that died. I replaced it with a 3.1 cut ft model by a different brand. While the new model was slightly larger than the previous one, the distribution of that space was slightly different. The new one was not as wide and was instead deeper from front-to-back. The loss of width was significant enough for me to be concerned about the microwave I had resting atop the fridge. Especially since this brand's exterior was smoother. Creating a concern that the microwave might slide off the fridge either during operation or just over time. I temporarily put some felt furniture pads on the bottom, which provided better traction but then I was concerned about whether that type of material might be a problem with heat from either unit. This silicone mat was the solution I found. It's almost exactly the same width as the new fridge ... and covered almost the entire top depth-wise ... but is plenty large enough for the microwave. The mat doesn't budge ... and neither does the microwave. And plus, because the 18" depth was more than the microwave's depth, I was able to push the microwave to the back edge and have several inches of space in the front to catch any spills or drips from food as I remove it from the microwave. A very simple and elegant solution to that problem as well.

Works great i just wish it didnt have the large white logo on the corner. Good slip resistance and easy to clean.

One of the best silicone mats I have ordered and used. It is very thick and easy to clean. It holds ZERO stains and works as advertised.

Other drying mats don't have a drainage hole at one end. I had to plug this one with black silicone sealant. It would have gotten 5 stars without the hole.

I have a new 24 inch electrical range that the other covers were too big for. This fit perfect over the top part of the stove and looks great.

I have my large countertop oven on a sturdy wooden shelf with another shelf above it, the top and bottom of the oven get very hot so I put one of these under the oven and one on top to keep it from getting too hot on the shelf

Really wanted to like this, was very excited about getting it. Was hoping it woulsnt mold up like those memory foam drying mat. But it does even more because the water just sits there. At least with this, I can clean the mold out easier than the foam mat. It would be smart if there was a draining edge and a bit of a tilt to it so excess water could drain into sink. It molds quick so you have to keep up with drying off the mat frequently.For example I wash dishes and then let dry overnight then put away next day and repeat again another day and after 2-4days it’s moldy. It’s just a lot of maintenance

I actually have two of these. The first one I cut to size to fit just underneath my commercial grade Bunn coffeemaker, in order to protect my quartz countertop from the heat. It works absolutely perfectly for this. The second one I placed on the counter beside my induction stovetop, so I could set hot pots and pans there directly from the stove and oven. It works absolutely perfectly for this as well. So, I am completely happy and satisfied with this mat. I thought maybe the raised dots and dashes on the surface might make things sit wobbly on there, but it doesn't.Another commentor was troubled that white water spots showed up on this mat. Yes, they occasionally do, but I think that happens with all black silicone mats. It doesn't bother me, and a quick rinse cleans them off.
