Great quality
The wood is very smooth. People complained about the paint coming off. I haven’t experienced that yet, but my baby also plays with the egg more right now.

The paint easily chips off
I bought this product thinking it would be high quality, but the paint chipped off of this toy after only a few weeks of having it. We only wipe it down with soap and water.

Well made, Look nice
This is my first impressions review. I've had it for a couple of days. I will update if I learn new things. They were packaged with a nice, minimal cardboard box. No plastic bag. In the box: An egg, egg holder, cylinder with tiny handle on top, and a holder for the cylinder. Also included is a little thank-you card, with cute little stickers. They seem well manufactured. The touch is smooth and soft. All of the edges are smoothed off, so no sharp corners. The cylinder/egg fit into the block/cup in a nice, satisfying way. Not too tight, not too loose. The cylinder is hollowed out to make it lighter and easier to pick up. The outside faces of the objects have a semi-matte finish that has a soft touch feel. There is no information about what the coating is, whether it's a urethane, epoxy, Tung oil, etc. That'd be nice to know if you're concerned about BPA (which some coatings have, particularly epoxies). I think they're attractive, and I don't mind having them around, unlike most plastic junk that's made for babies. The cube has the name, address (company based in Arizona, manufactured in china), lot number, and manufacture date etched into the bottom. I find this comforting because that means the company is invested in quality control and has the ability to issue effective recalls if if become necessary. This is very rare in the world of Amazon, with so many fly-by-night manufacturers. My 8 month old seemed to enjoy it right away. He gravitated toward the egg first, picked it up and gave me a happy squeal. The little nub on the cylinder seemed to do a good job encouraging him to attempt the pincer grasp. I think the paint on the top of the cylinder gives a visual cue to grasp it, though some reviewers have noted that it flecks off, so the manufacturer could probably work on that. He's also enjoyed whacking things with the egg and seeing how it sounds. So far he hasn't shown an interest in trying to put the egg in the cup or the cylinder in the block, but maybe as he gets older and I show it to him that'll change.Update: After a few days, the yellow paint started to peel off. Too bad, I'll scrape it off with my finger, but they should probably exclude the paint or work on it.
