So thankful to have this on hand!
My left ring finger was completely swollen for days, to the point that it was painful to make a fist. My engagement and wedding bands were actually cutting into my skin. After looking into the cost of a jeweler or fire department cutting these off, we decided on this tool. It worked wonders! My rings were off within 5 minutes. For the cost of this item, I recommend purchasing to always have on hand in your first aid kit - you never know what can happen and this tool will always be there in case an emergency comes up.

Does not always work with stainless steel!
So I recently picked this item up because I read the seller comment that it cuts stainless steel. My ring is stuck on my finger with moderate swelling and this cutter got halfway through the first cut and the blade jammed. The cutter is unusable now. This is very impractical and painful to try and use on harder metals. Especially if you have any kind of swelling. Don't bother with this cutter if you have a tough ring. Just go to the ER and get it over with.

Keep handles away from the palm.
I found that the teeth of the wheel would pull the ring and add stress to the finger. It worked better when the handles of the tool were aligned with the finger but away from the palm. Avoid squeezing the handles too tightly. After some practice, the tool worked well.

I recommend it.
I operate an urgent care and we use ring cutters fairly often especially with patients who have had hand or finger injury or other conditions that cause swelling in the finger. This ring cutter is stronger than our previous one, you can use your whole hand to squeeze on the instrument and the circular cutting bade is larger and stronger. I recommend it.

Doesn't work the way it was intended due to poor quality
I was desperate to get a ring off and did not have the money to go local. The blade on this with crap and so is the replacement blades. It never worked and I just got rid of it don't waste your money

Worked with additional tools
did not fully cut through the ring and kept catching and sliding up the finger causing a lot of pain. Had to use a tile cutter to unhinge the last bit of the ring and then pliers to separate. At the end of the day, it did the trick.

Easy to use and does what it is intended to do
Saw a video online about these ring cutters and realized its not too hard to use it. Had struggled earlier with getting the ring off, tried other methods mentioned online such as soap, floss and all. Finally looked up local ring cutter and realized the fees charged were exuberant, hence ordered this. Works like a charm, had my wife help me with holding it in position. Would recommend.

Makes A Tight Situation, Tighter.
The part that slides between your finger and the saw that also protects your finger from being cut is TOO big which hurts your already hurting finger from the ring being too tight. Then twisting the saw makes the device move upward which hurts even more because the curved part gets thicker as it gets closer to the handle. Making an already tight situation, tighter. TOO thick and bulky to be of any use.
