Turns out it just isn't supported by WIndows 10. So, on the hunt I go for a new adapter that would work. But also, an adapter that was USB3 as well as AC1200 specification. I needed quick throughput on my local network for file transfers. I tried a couple of other adapters which yielded very poor results from the more reputable well known manufacturers. So, discouraged I continued to look. Ran across this product. I have never heard of the name at first. But, knowing that is uses a Realtek chip inside gave me some confidence. Also, the reviews were promising. I like the fact that it has an antenna on it as I installed this on my Desktop computer. And I wanted to make sure that the signal could reach the adapter in full strength. So far I have no complaints. It was the easiest to install. No drivers to pre-install. It is a Plug and Play affair with Windows 10. All you have to do is select your network and off you go! Not one hiccup. Happy with this purchase, and so shall you be happy with it as well. One of the better USB 3 wifi adapters out there!

Purchased to replace 600M Dual Band USB Adapter, which is currently running at 433 Mbps (TX/RX) with a signal strength and link quality of 100%. As suggested, installed the software that came with the unit first under W7-64 Bit OS. When I connected the adapter at the completion of software installation, I noticed that the adapter will not stay connected to the computer USB connector (vertically positioned) due to its weight. Moved the cables around to connect the adapter to a horizontally (long side) positioned USB connector. The OS recognized the adapter; however, there was no communication going on between the adapter and the wireless modem. It did not even see the other 8 signals from my neighbors I normally see around the house. Tried rotating the antenna around in case there is a polarization misalignment issue between the adapter and the modem antennas, still nothing. OS advises me that the driver is working fine. Item being returned to Amazon.

I was very disappointed with this purchase. The adapter keeps dropping connection even though my router is only 1 room away. Web pages take forever to load if they even load at all. This device operated very sketchy and I would not feel comfortable recommending it to anyone. I have 2 other adapters from other companies that work flawlessly on my computer, so I know the computer is not the problem. Sorry.

Absolute junk... made poorly with very cheap plastic, functioned for about 15 minutes before becoming more and more intermittent, then...total failure. Avoid this product, unless you like tossing your money away... you do get what you pay for. Bought an Asus USB-AC53 NANO, which worked perfectly right out of the box. Why wont I learn!?!?!

Wish I had paid attention to previous reviews.I have another computer connected to the Wi-Fi network (no adapter) which works without any issues. This computer also works fine when connected w/o adapter. So its definitely the adapter issue. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.Sorry.

These are just too cheaply made to be worth the hassle. I went through several of these -- the CustServ persons were very professional and helpful, but the products just don't hold up. Plus, they send the driver on a CD (my laptop doesn't have a drive), so I found the correct driver download online myself. Do that VERY CAREFULLY.

picked up the Mailiya 1200Mbps USB 3.0 for my grand daughter who was having trouble picking up the house wi-fi, this thing worked great, very easy install/setup

Works very well. At first I thought it was dropping on 5GB but the netgear router itself was the real problem.
