It does not work at all. I had never find a single fish with it. Don't waste your time and money.

I still need to play with the sensitivity some and get the settings just how I like them, but otherwise it seems to work well. I was a little worried at first because I kept getting a lot of strange readings where the readout would be very distorted and depth kept going back and forth, but I later realized that I was kayaking over a thick forest of kelp.

I brought it with me to the lake. I put the sonar on the fishing line and throw it to the lake, then power on the monitor. It tells me the depth, temperature, when there are fish swam by it will show on the screen.

I've spent a few hours only casting this sonar ball to many spots to discover the underwater world. I will be on an offshore fishing skiff soon so I can't wait for the trip with this fish finder.
