Repeat of so many other novels
It's ridiculously slow and the story is so predictable, that I surprised myself my actually finishing itReluctant recruit gets put in charge, does badly and has a nemesis of another privileged recruit. Things take a turn for the worse and suddenly everyone is best mates and all fighting for the cause

Entertaining start to a trilogy
If you lived through the 60s you will probably enjoy this book, especially if you got drafted and got to enjoy basic training. The book is set in the future after Earth has been conquered and occupied by an alien race. Or is it a bunch of alien races. The protagonist is peacefully protesting when he is arrested - hey we have some politicians now who would like to do that - and forced into military service. The confusion of actually having to go through basic training was the most amusing part of the book. It feels like the author actually must have gone though it as some time. Wonder if it ever changes? But regardless, the military gear and the training are interesting. One of the weaknesses of the series is always having the group that comes out of basic at the right time at the right place. If you can overlook this weakness it is an easy book to read and enjoy, but only if you like military fiction.

Military Sci Fi
I enjoyed reading this book as I have not read military science fiction in a long time. It was engaging and humorous!

Earth has been occupied by the Accordance and they have taken possession of the moon.
Earth has been occupied by the Accordance and they have taken possession of the moon. The people of Earth are to be used as canon fodder for the Accordance's war with the Conglomeration, another alien race that takes a species and turns them in to tools for them. The Accordance decides to take a group of humans to the moon to train to be the first human only fighting group. But while they are training, the Conglomeration hits the training base on the dark side of the moon and it is up to a small group of survivors to escape and warn people on the far side of the moon, to let them know that the Conglomeration has arrived.I enjoyed the book, it's story line is different and it has great potential to grow. I would recommend reading this book.
