Does this work to crush medication too?

Should be work if not harder than coffee bean.

Does this produce a level of grind suitable for a cafetière?

It is easy to adjust the grind setting, I use a Cafetière/French Press & it took a few try's to find the correct Grind & required amount of Bean for what I would consider a decent Double Espresso using my Cafetière/French Press.

How often does it need cleaning?

we clean ours when it needs it....... to be fair its not that often and only takes minutes to do

Why does it always show the blue ring when charging even though it’s not fully charged?

If it's showing a blue light it's not actually charging. It is not compatible with some usb chargers. If the charger has a usbc to usbc cable it almost certainly will not work. Only seems to work with chargers with usba to usbc cables or older hard wired chargers. Had this problem myself, fortunately had some old chargers in the bottom of the draw.
